Chapter 10: Pool Party

Richie's POV:

I go through my drawers looking for my favorite swimming shorts and I finally find it under my white sweater with a rose on the corner. I shove it in my bag and rush out the door, I hop over to my car and get in.
"You wanna change her or at Bev's?"
I ask turning over to Eddie who was sitting over to my left.
"I'll just change there."
"Okay Eddie Spaghetti."
I smile as I drive away thinking about last night. We both slept in and woke up 3 hours into school so we decided there's no point in going and we cuddled even more. His mom who stayed downstairs sleeping downstairs the whole time didn't even notice anything. We get at Bev's house and I realize the Losers would ask us why we both were gone today so I turn over to Eddie and say,
"Wait Ed's what's our excuse gonna be?"
He hesitates and says,
"Can we tell them the truth?"
I smile and nod trying not to blush.
"Yeah... Whatever you want."

We walk out and my hands are shaking until Eddie grabs my right hand and we walk together up to her front door. I know the Losers wouldn't care we were gay but I was still terrified about how Ben, Bill, and Mike would react because they were the only ones who haven't seen seen us together. Ben was suspicious but that's it. We stop at Bev's door and look at each other and smile. I knock on her door and she answers almost instantly.

"Hey guys!" she says smiling.
We smile back and walk in the house and see the other Losers all talking in their bathing suits. Still holding hands we sit down together and join the conversation with the Losers. We talk about school and drama then Stan gives me looks and ask,
"So where were you and Eddie" I blush and open my mouth to speak but Beverly walks in from the other and says,
"You guys wanna go swim now?" with her overly enthusiastic smile.
We all smile and nod, she leads us out and she tells us about her dads new job. We get to the back where the pool is and Mike jumps in first with Bill following. Eddie starts to walk up the ladder and I follow until Stan tugs at my arm. I wait for Eddie to get in the pool safely then I turn to Stan. He looks around and says quietly,
"You don't have to tell all the Losers about what you guys did but at least tell me."
"I'm going to tell everyone just wait." He nods and he jumps into the pool and I go after him.

Eddie is sitting on the opposite of the pool then me when I first get in so I dip my self in and swim over to him. I am two feet away from him when I get an idea. I swim over to him and grab him from his legs and pick him up. At first he freaks out but then he starts giggling and leans into my face for a kiss. We forget where we are for a bit and I start making out with him but then I hear a voice say...
"Get a room!" while laughing.
I turn around and see all the Losers staring with smiles and giggles. We all settle in and play around for a bit then we start to talk again.
I lean on the pool wall and Eddie comes to me and lays his back on my chest. I wrap my arms around him and put my chin on his shoulder.

Me and Stan keep making awkward eye contact until he finally ask,
"So why weren't you both at school today?"
The pool gets quiet, I say,
"Me and Eddie spent the night together and woke up late."
"Oh okay, so are you guys dating now?"
"Yeah we have been just before school started."
"Oh okay, cool."
There's an awkward silence in the pool but then Mike starts to talk about his new girlfriend and the conversation just flows from there. We all talk and laugh for almost an hour til Bev says,
"What do you guys want to eat?"
"A-Anything." Bill says stuttering.
"Okay, I'll order some pizza then." she says getting up the ladder and out the pool.

We start to swim around again and play chicken fight. First it's Stan on top of Bill, versus, Mike on top of Ben. Stan and Bill win so me and Eddie go against them. I dip in the water and feel Eddie's thighs press on my shoulders. I feel him slip but I grab his legs and pull him back up. I feel him slide up and his bulge on the back of my head. Stan and Bill walk towards us, I tighten my grip on Eddie's thighs and walk to them. I feel Eddie lean in and push Stan, I see Stan pushing himself back up and push into Eddie. I feel myself falling back but I push forward, Eddie keeps pushing Stan back and I start slipping. Eddie and Stan pull into each other and me and Bill walk into each other. I pull back but Bill leans forward with Stan and I feel Eddie falling off, I pull him back on my shoulders and he swings at Stan and I see Bill and Stan both fall over. The Losers cheer us and I put Eddie down.
