Sitting up in my bed, I rub the tiredness out my eyes. I get up and go to the kitchen, looking in the fridge I find a plate of food with a note.
Here's your dinner, didn't wanna wake you. Love mom.
I smile taking the plate heating it up, I sit down and eat silently enjoying the silence. After cleaning my plate I decide to go for a run through the territory. I go up stairs into my room, stripping off my clothes I walk out on my balcony.
"You ready Desiree?" I asked my wolf.
"You know it" she replies with a wolfy smile.
I climb up on the railing of the balcony, taking a deep breath I jump. I love the feeling of air on my face as I'm falling. A couple feet from the ground I shift, gracefully landing on my burgundy paws.
"Stuck the landing" Desiree stated.
We took off running into the forest dodging boulders, fallen trees and mud puddles.
"Eve" Desiree says.
"Yes" I say.
"Do you not want a mate?" She asks.
"I don't not want one" I answer truthfully.
"Then why haven't we went to look for him?"she asked.
"I don't know, I guess I wanna finish school first" I shrug.
"Oh, but when we do find him you'll accept him right?" She asked.
"I believe so" I chuckle.
The rest of the run was spent in silence, just enjoying the freedom we felt while running around like a lunatic. I decided it was time to go back inside, running back to the house I shifted. I open the door and silently creep up the stairs. I sneak into Cornelius's room, going to his dresser and grabbing a shirt and some boxers. Don't judge me his scent puts me at ease. Putting on the clothes, I look to see him sleeping soundly and decide to accompany him. I lift the covers and Cornelius bursts awake grabbing my wrists.
