I have a vintage record player locked away in my basement,
I never used it, until the day I saw the disgraces across the ocean.
Blowing the dust from the screen,
I pressed play and started dancing,
The music filled my room to the brim,
I had to remove myself from the sins.I get lost inside the meaningful lyrics,
They allow me to forget about it.
I get transfixed by the bombastic beats,
I just want to once again feel safe.Dancing to these disco daydreams,
Everything feels so neat,
Dancing to these disco daydreams,
I don't want to believe,
Dancing to these disco daydreams,
A fantasy hopefully turns into reality.
Dancing to these disco daydreams,
Yet I can't help but feel something,
Something that's changing,
For the worse as I'm dancing.Wonder plays on the radio,
I can feel my soul start to let go.
Presley calms the panic in the world,
I can see the change begin to show.
Turner assures us the river will keep on rolling,
Well, here's to hoping.I get lost inside the meaningful lyrics,
They allow me to forget about it.
I get transfixed by the bombastic beats,
I just want to once again feel safe.Dancing to these disco daydreams,
Everything feels so neat,
Dancing to these disco daydreams,
I don't want to not believe,
Dancing to these disco daydreams,
A fantasy hopefully turns into reality.
Dancing to these disco daydreams,
Yet I can't help but feel something,
Something that's changing,
For the worse as I'm dancing.I'm moving my body to feel numb,
I'm swaying my hips I feel dumb.
I want to remember the unity we won,
I want to feel at one under the burning sun.I get lost inside the meaningful lyrics,
They allow me to forget about it.
I get transfixed by the bombastic beats,
I just want to once again feel safe.Dancing to these disco daydreams,
Everything feels so neat,
Dancing to these disco daydreams,
I don't want to not believe,
Dancing to these disco daydreams,
A fantasy hopefully turns into reality.
Dancing to these disco daydreams,
Yet I can't help but feel something,
Something that's changing,
For the worse as I'm dancing.
