Alex

I awoke to ducks yelling at me. Wait, ducks yelling at me? Ah, yes the alarm. THE ALARM! I exploded out of bed, forgetting about Carter, who was on the extra mattress.

"OW!" He yelled, bolting upright. I had just stepped on Carter.

"ACK!" I yelled. "Get up! The alarm! We've got to go!" I jumped over Carter, getting clothes and sprinting to the bathroom. "Get dressed!" I called as I began to change myself. I tossed my pjs into the laundry and knocked on my door.

"Come on in," Carter allowed. He was just throwing some socks on when I rushed into my room, grabbed Carter's wrist, and dragged him down the stairs.

"Grab your stuff and let's go! We've got to walk and it's already-" I looked at my watch, "-4:45! GO!" We busted out of my house and, our suitcases dragging behind us, we ran across my yard to the road that would take us to school.

"'Mornin," Carter said, his voice still husky with sleep.

"Good morning. I wonder why we have to be at school so early."

"Well I sure don't know, if I did I'd still be sleeping," Carter pointed out.

When we arrived at school, Magnus and Jem sitting next to each other and talking. They got up and walked over to greet us, and just as we were about to start talking, the familiar 'click whoosh click' of the school doors opening made our small posse look over.

Rob was striding out of the building towards us, a mischievous smile placed upon his lips. He greeted us with a, "Hello children," and told us to follow him. We did so, and Rob led us through the school, and opened the doors leading to the soccer field.

"What are we doing here?" Magnus questioned, looking around.

"You'll see," Rob said. And see we did. He pulled out what appeared to be car keys and pressed a button. As I watched, a giant spaceship appeared in front of me, taking up most of the field.

"Wow," Jem breathed.

"Double wow," I agreed.

"This," Rob said, "is the Wolphian. Come aboard." He walked up to the ship, pressed another button, and a ladder extended. He climbed aboard, beckoning for us to follow.

"Um, guys," I said. "That wasn't there two minutes ago, right?" Carter shook his head.

"It sort of looks like the Millenium Falcon, from Star Wars," Magnus pointed out.

"It does," Carter said, squinting at the ship. "I suppose we should follow Rob, shouldn't we?"

"Mmhm," I said. "Let's go."

We walked up to the giant ship, and stopped at the ladder. "Look guys," Jem started. "This is awesome and all, but do we really want to do this?" I looked around and noticed the fear in the others' eyes. And yet, a chorus of 'yeahs' and 'sures' echoed under the ship.

"Well then," I said, stepping onto the first ladder rung. "Let's go save the world."

I followed Alex, Jem, and Magnus up the ladder, and into the most epic living room I had ever seen. In the corner there was an 88" flat screen T.V., a giant leather couch full to the rim with throw pillows and blankets, and I noticed about 7 different remotes. There were about 6 bean bag chairs, and quite a few gaming consoles. To the left of that there was a ginormous book shelf, which I knew Alex and Jem were going to like. On the right there was a fully-equipped kitchen, with what looked like one of those ice cream freezers they have at gas stations.
