"Focus up ladies. Good evening, and welcome to the birthing suite." Tony spoke to the suits lined up along the wall, each one behind a wall of glass. I rolled my eyes at his theatrics and didn't move. I was currently laying in the dog bed Tony kept in the workshop and was watching him as he began the test to make sure his new suit worked.
Over the past 3 months I've lived with Pepper and Tony, I've been trying my best to get Tony to warm up to me, but he still seems undecided on whether he was happy about me being here or not. But he hasn't kicked me out yet... So I guess that's a start. I rolled onto my back and covered my muzzle with my paws in an attempt to get some shut eye. Something Tony hasn't done in 3 days.
"I am pleased to announce the imminent arrival, of your bouncing, badass, baby brother." Tony finished, turning to his camera robot.
"Start close, then go wide. Stamp it, time." He then turned to face in my direction. I slightly lifted one paw from my eye to watch the inevitable disaster.
"Mark 42 autonomous prehensile propulsion suit test." Nothing he just said made sense to me. "Initialize sequence." He moved his fingers in the air a bit before a bunch of suit pieces from around the workshop powered up, which caught my attention. I flipped back around so I was on my stomach with my head raised so I could see. If this turned into a disaster, I wanted to see it.
"Jarvis, drop my needle." Jarvis did as he was told and immediately some weird version of jingle bells was blasting through the workshop. Tony started dancing a bit, and I yawned, unamused.
"Look alive Butterball, things are about to get crazy." Tony warned before pointed his arms at a bunch of suit pieces on a table. I internally laughed.
When it didn't work again, Tony cursed under his breath.
"Crap.." He hit his forearm hard, and tried again. A single piece shot off the table and connected with Tony's hand, turning into a suit glove. I was surprised that it actually worked and watched intently as he called the rest.
A shoulder piece connected with his shoulder and expanded down his arm, along with the corresponding bicep piece. He called the other glove, it flying towards his quickly. He laughed happily and I barked once in happiness that his experiment was working.
"Alright, I think we've got this, send em' all." Tony smiled as he patiently awaited the rest of the suit to fly to him.
The first thing to fly was a leg, which met its mark on Tony's leg. The second piece didn't go as smoothly, crashing through the glass encasing a suit and knocking off it's head.
Another piece flew and Tony had to duck to avoid it, knocking it into the air so it hit a light, sending sparks to the floor.
"Probably a little fast, slow it down a little- slow it down-" He made a time out gesture and quickly ducked to avoid a piece going straight for his head. "-a little!"
The table next to me was knocked over and I jumped to my feet out of surprise. Another piece of suit went straight through some pipes on the wall, blasting hot air into the room. Tony had most of his suit on by now, but the face plate flew into the table holding the record player, shutting off the music with a record scratch. The table was right next to me, and the sudden screech of a metal table moving against a concrete floor made me bark in surprise and jump to under Tony's desk.
My ears were flat against my head as I easily fit under Tony's glass topped desk for shelter. My tail quickly wrapped around my legs and my head hung low to the ground as I sat and patiently and waited for the chaos to end.
"Come on. I'm not scared of you." Tony said as he faced off the last piece of his suit, the face plate. The face plate took off towards Tony, hitting the table and flipping upside down. Tony, realizing this, quickly jumped into the air, spun to be upside down and made it so the plate connected cleanly with the rest of his suit. He landed on one knee with a fist to the ground. My tail started wagging as his success. It finally worked! Well... Kinda worked. Still a few minor kinks to work out.
