16. Frustration

Stef's POV

I get home from work at about 10 due to an arrest that had came up. I knew Lena would fuss at me and that's not something I wanted to hear at the moment.

"I thought you weren't coming."

"An arrest came up." I explain.

"You were supposed to take Jesus to his appointment."

Then it hit me. "I completely forgot." I said honestly.

"Yea I know." She says bitterly.

"Well I'm sorry your the one who wanted me to take these hours."

"Actually you kinda made that decision without me!" She says raising her voice slightly.

"I can't do this, I'm going to bed." I say changing.

I know relationships have problems but I never thought it would get this bad. We are arguing almost every day and it's getting annoying. Stef did this and Stef did this but Monte has her tongue all down Lena's throat and she acts like it's nothing.

She is supposed to go in a 4 day cruise for the teachers so hopefully she will calm down and realize I'm not the bad person. I walk down to the kitchen as see a box of Godiva chocolate. She's been getting a lot of chocolate.

I open the box and find a card in it with "Lena" in nice writing. I open the card and read it.

"Hopefully this makes you feel better, just talk to her."

I feel anger boil inside of me as I put the card down. I didn't even realize the shadow behind me.

"Find something you?" She says

"Just a love letter from Monte."

"It's not a love letter Stef, she actually cares about me and checks on me."

"Like I don't?"

"No Stef you really don't."

I walk outside and take a deep breath. This was all too much. I wanted to escape from reality and just fuck it all. The conversation we had brought back a bad memory of my and my dad. It's like I could head his words in my head all over again.
