And silence.

"You still there?"

"Yep..."

His voice lingered. A sign that he actually listened.

"Let's continue."

And so I shall.

Sixth grade. Start of middle school.

Me? I was still a rather lonely kid. It's as if acne had taken over my face. I was still like 122-126 pounds. I wore jogging pants and a sweatshirt everyday. It was almost like wearing a protection blanket.

I remember walking into home room like a minute late. All the kids stared at me as I took my seat, and that certainly felt weird.

I was slightly more open than last year. I kind of just talked to anyone who was willing to talk to me.

This year wasn't too bad though.

I honestly can't think of a story so bad as the others...

So let's give you a happy story :)

So, each marking period, I got high honor roll. I was so happy because high honors was something I loved. Last year, in fifth grade, I tried so hard to get it in marking period 3. I thought I did it, and I didn't. I cried because I was frustrated, but kids made fun of me, so I cried more.

But anyway, I got high honor roll the last marking period at graduation which made me ecstatic.

So furthermore, I enjoyed getting high honors a lot, and nobody made fun of me.

So one day they were giving out "positive progress reports" which are these special little things. When my home room teacher Mr.Latyn called my name, I was surprised. He was a very grumpy teacher who liked nobody.

So I walked up to take my little report, and he said "It's ok to smile."

That stuck in my head for a long time.

But the thought that it's ok to cry was still there. I still remained alone at lunch a lot. I had to be friends with people I didn't really care for. Those were the immature ones who acted like they were 5.

But that day I didn't mind. I was satisfied by what that day gave me.
