Katie's POV-
Ever since that day that Ashton kissed me, which was about a week ago, he had been extremely distant. I did tell him I would text him and so I did, but he never answered back. Maybe the kiss wasn't what he expected. Perhaps he just decided he didn't like me. But whatever the hell it was that kept driving him away, it was giving me a great deal of anxiety.
Our manager, being the lovely person she is, had set up our schedule for the next few months to be in line with 5 Seconds of Summers'. Seemingly, everything went so well at the last concert, that we needed all the publicity we could get. Of course, we hadn't played at their concerts, but found a few gigs on tv shows and such.
Jason and I were sitting side by side, awaiting an interviewer to come and do her job. His arm was around me and he pulled me in closer to his chest, "It's your birthday soon,"
I nodded and smiled at him. Clearly, my birthday wasn't exactly what I was most worried about. Aside from the Ashton dilemma, Matt had stopped talking to me entirely. Somehow, he had seen Ashton and I kissing and he flipped out. Joey had spilled all of the details onto me about how upset Matt seemed while they were at a boy's night out. "Bigger things to worry about at the moment."
Jason pouted, ruffling my hair up slightly, but patting it down quickly after. He attempted to cheer me up as the cameramen began to pile into the room,"Matt'll come around. He loves you, you know that."
I pursued my lips and looked up at Jason, shaking my head 'no' slightly,"I don't think he'll forgive me this time."
"Sure, he will. Just relax and think about your upcoming birthday, " Jason lightly pushed me away and taking his arm off my shoulder teasingly. I have to admit, Jason was right about the Matt thing. After all, Matt and I have been friends for a very long time and he would eventually begin talking to me again. But that didn't mean m head was completely cleared. Ashton still lingered in my head and it made me wonder, Why the hell am I so hung up on this guy?
The interviewer came strolling in, her long dark hair cascading down her shoulders. Her eyeliner was perfect and her skin was perfectly tanned, making her eyes pop. Jason was hypnotized by this girl. But something told me by the way she held the questions on that clipboard, that she was up to no good.

"So, 5 Seconds of Summer?" Miranda, the amazingly good interviewer asked. Jason, even after ten minutes of talking to this girl, was still staring at her senselessly.
Therefore, I had to do most of the talking in this interview. "Yeah, they're great people,"
"How exactly did that happen? How did you get to be their opening show?" She inquisitively asked, leaning forward in her white leather chair.
Jason moved around on his spot on the sofa as I chuckled and pressed the microphone to my lips,"I-We met at the airport and I guess Michael was a fan of ours so he invited me. Simple as that,"
Miranda furrowed her eyebrows, but continued to calmly read the questions off of the clear clipboard that sat on her lap. "Okay, and since you are known to take some love interest in guys from popular bands, such as 5SOS, which guy will you be bringing home?"
I tensed beside Jason and somehow, he snapped himself out of his trance and placed his arm behind me, resting on th sofa, for pure support. Before I could speak my mind, Jason stopped me, cutting me off and saying the first words since we introduced ourselves,"She's done with that reputation."
I added, nodding frantically and awkwardly smiling at Miranda,"Yeah, and besides, they're all to young for me."
"Not Ashton Irwin, is he?" She pressed, sitting back and crossing her legs over one another. Miranda knew exactly what the hell she was doing, but luckily, so did I.
