Chapter 7

I wake up in Colby arms. It's the next day. I put Colby's jumper back on. I hear my phone ring. I grab my phone, it's James. I answer it. I walk to the stairs and I sit down on the top one.
"James! Thank god you called, I've been so worried-"
"Max. I'm so sorry." James says. He sounds like he's... crying?
"James, what's wrong?" I ask.
"My parents are making me move back to Australia. They said they don't want me here. That's why I didn't calm you back or text you. I don't want to do this." He says between sobs.
"James- What? They can't do that!" I say.
"They can and they are. They made me sell the house." My heart drops.
"B-but what about me?" I ask.
"I don't know. All your stuff is at a hotel. I'll text you the details about it. I have to go. I'm about to board my flight. Goodbye Max. I love you." He says and hangs up.
"James? James?! Fuck!" I put my phone down.
"Hey, what's wrong?" I look up and see Sam. He sits down next to me. I wipe away tears.
"Nothing. I'm fine." I say, looking away.
"Obviously you're not fine. Come on, you can tell me. I won't tell anyone. Not even Colby." I sigh. I tell Sam what happened.
"So now I'm homeless and friendless." I say.
"Hey, don't say that. We're all your friends and I'm sure you'd be able to stay with us. Actually. Colby, Corey, Jake and I are moving in 2 months. Colby probably hasn't told you yet. We're moving to Hawaii. You could move in with us? I'm sure everyone will be down for you to move in." Sam says.
"Really?" I ask. Sam nods.
"Yeah. Of course. You're our friend. Plus there's room in Colby's bed." Sam says. I blush.
"Thanks Sam." He hugs me.
"No problem. It'll probably be a lot more fun with you around and hopefully having a girl in the house will make the guys actually clean. Especially Colby with the dishes." Sam says.
"I do wash my dishes. And I usually use paper towel anyway." Colby says, sitting down on the other side of me. He put on some black sweat pants. I lay my head on his shoulder.
"So, what's going on? How come you two are out here?" Colby ask's. Sam stands up.
"I'll leave you two alone." Sam says and walks back into his room. I look at Colby. I take a deep breath.
"I no longer have a house." I say. Colby looks at me confused.
"What? How?"
"James' parents made him sell it. It was under his name because he's the oldest. He moved back to Australia. His parents made him. Sam said that you guys are moving in 2 months, to Hawaii." I say.
"Yeah. We are. He said you could move in, didn't he?" I look down.
"Only if it's okay with you." I say. Colby wraps his arms around me.
"Of course it is. And I'm sure it'll be perfectly fine with Jake and Corey too. What about your stuff?" Colby ask's.
"James said it's in a hotel. I didn't bring much stuff because I was going to buy everything. But obviously I didn't get to that yet." I say.
"I'll help you buy stuff. But first there's one thing before you move in with us."
"What?" I ask.
"I want to take you out on a date before we move." Colby says. I blush. "Tonight." He adds.
"Tonight? I don't even have anything to wear." I say with a small laugh. Colby smirks and stands up. He extends his arm out. I take it and he brings me into his room.
"You do have something to wear. Tada." Colby says taking out a beautiful white dress.
"Wha-"
"You wouldn't let me buy you that black dress. When I was putting it back, I found this one. It'll look amazing on you." Colby says.
"Colby, I... you-"
"Max, just say thank you." He says giving it to me.
"Thank you. Where are we gonna go?" I ask. Colby walks over to his bedside table. He opens the drawer and grabs out tickets.
"It's for a movie premiere. Sam and I got invited to it. It's tonight. We get to have plus ones, Sam's obviously taking Kat. And now I'm taking you."
"Colby, I- thank you." I say with a smile. Colby kisses me.
"I cannot wait for tonight princess." He whispers to me. I smile.
"Me too." I say and I peck his cheek. I look at the dress and smile.
