Walking up the stairs Cory started winning so Ashton picked him up and carried him up the rest of the way.
In Ashton's soon to be office Jake went to the big Brown book shelf, that was all the way to the ceiling, and took a big book of the shelf.
"This book is called The Legends of Wearwolvs. It hold things from like Angel werewolves to demon werewolves, to gimps and trolls, to fairies. It tells you things that are going to happen in the future but it doesn't tell you a specific time that it will happen."
This book had a brown cover and a plastic cover on the back. It looked like someone had ripped the back of it. It had two thousand pages.
Ashton went over to the desk and set Cory in the seat. Then he started looking through the pages.
Cory pulled on Jake's sleeve and did a motion indicating that he wanted him to spin him around.
When he found it he was on page one-thousand three hundred and twenty-seven.
"Aha! Here it is!"
Jake got a little too exited and almost dropped Cory. "What does it say?"
Ashton looked at me for a minute and then back to the book and started reading.
"Read if you dare but behold this book of the future will tell you things you will never forget. Behold for these things are true.
The boy with the hidden secret.
A six year old boy will save Black Moon Pack from destruction..."
Ashton stopped. Looked up at me. Then he started again.
"Destruction from the Silver Blood Rogue Pack. This six year old boy doesn't talk he uses different strategies for the people around him to understand. He never talks and he will never talk his whole life.
This boy is very smart but if he talks he will be killed. Even if he could talk he wouldn't talk.
He will turn out to be very useful in the future.
Ashton stopped reading. "That's it."
"That's all it had?" I ask. It's not Cory he might not talk but he's not six he's not even three yet.
"That's all it had, and it looks like there is another boy out there that can not talk. But the thing about the Silver Blood rogue pack attacking my pack that can't happen this book is a myth I mean it isn't because it's right here but it's not true it can't be."
"well ash it looks like it is because it said it was in the beginning of the book." I was not going to come all this way and not find a reason for Cory's not talking. "What are we going to do about angie though that's the matter at hand right now she's gone and your not doing anything to help her get away from her mate that obviously took her."
Before Ashton could reply Jake yells. "WHAT!!SHE'S GONE AND NOBODY TOLD ME!!WHAT KIND OF PERSON DOESN'T TELL ME THAT KIND OF THING!!I'M HER MATE WHY THE HECK WOULD YOU NOT TELL ME!!"
"Jake what are you talking about she was taken by her mate." Ashton looked as confused as I felt.
"No I'm her mate she just didn't want to tell anybody yet because I was your friend and she was a little scared that you would not be happy about that. And you wouldn't let me be your friend anymore, but I told her that you wanted her to be happy and that you would be fine with it, Ashton but she still didn't believe me." He was calmed down and now he was just trying to get his breath back from saying that whole sentence in one breath.
After we heard all that Jake ran out of the room and we heard him practically fly down the stairs.
Ashton ran after him and me, Liz, and Cory heard him practically fly down the stairs also.
"why is it that whenever we, us girls get in trouble they practically fly down the stairs and come and save us?"
"Like I told you before big bad possessive alpha/wolf. They like to think that if they save us then we will love them more but in reality we couldn't, well we could, but anyway we couldn't love them anymore then we already do."
"Ya I guess your right but it still doesn't explain why they always fly down the stairs, I mean they could get hurt themselves and then we get to save them."
It was quiet and then there was a big bang from behind us. We, Liz and me, both screamed and turned really fast.
It was only Cory playing with the books on the book shelf. He was playing with a big book and he had knocked the biggest one off the shelf. Well the biggest one besides the one on Ashton's desk.
"Cory don't play with those books you could ruin them and then Ashton would be mad."
I walked over and picked the book up. When I tried to picked it up it was a lot heavier then I thought it would be.
Once I had picked it up I set it on the desk.
I took my hand off of it and the book opened by itself.
It opened to a page that had tiny word on them. Even with my glasses on I could barely read it.
I found a magnifying glass in one of the draws and put it up to the first words.
They said,
Misty, you will venture into the woods and get lost. When you find a road there will be nobody in sight. Until you get hit by a car and taken to a place you've never been before. You will see your u-
The rest of the Page is ripped. I will see who?
I look up at Liz and she is looking at me with a blank stare.
"Why do you look so pale misty?" Liz looks concerned.
"Did you read what this page says?" I say a little scared and a little creepdout.
"No I didn't let me see." She takes the magnifying glass from me and leans over the book. " I don't see anything- wait what book is this?"
I close the book and look at the front cover. It's the prophecy book for werewolves.
"Oh, dear I can't read the words that you read because this is the prophecy book and only the person who touched it can read the words, so if I would have went down and helped you pick it up and we both touched it at the same time then I could have seem them and you could have seen mine but I didn't so I can't."
I looked back at the book. "How does it work? Cory touched it but I didn't see anything about Cory in it."
"Well when you touch the book for a second it doesn't do anything but when you pick it up and hold it for more than a minute then that's when it happens. It tells you something about your future but you don't know when it's going to happen, so its kind if like the Legend of werewolves but it tells you something about your future and not what will happen to you personally. Your prophecy could be good or it could be bad. Was your prophecy good or bad?"
I look at Cory then back to Liz. "My prophecy was bad."
