My first job starts at 4:30 A.M. at the bakery down the street to my apartment. It's actually a funny story on how I got the job there.

I was at the grocery shop one day, trying to buy the month's grocery at the wholesalers' section when an I felt a tap on my shoulder and a lady, probably in her late fifties, was standing behind me and smiling at me. I thought that I was blocking her path and moved to the side but, instead, she asked me, "Do you need a job?"

I was a little taken aback, sure I needed a job, desperately too but no one was willing to hire me because I could not 'socialize', whatever that meant.

But I wasn't willing to pass up a chance to get a job. I only had so much money left and I really needed it so I just agreed. I think I was really lucky because she has to be the sweetest person I have ever met. She was really kind to me and we were able to work out a set time for me that would work with my class schedule. She even helped me to get two other jobs by recommending me to people. She really has to be my angel in disguise.

She introduced herself as Marie-Anne, we just call her Annie. She was of French descent, her great-grandfather moved to Germany during the French Revolution. He didn't want to be a part of anything there and so he moved his family here.

She had a voluptuous figure and looked really kind and sweet. She is pretty, even at that age. Her face had a smile that seemed permanently fixed there. She would go out every morning and greet everyone she met. She was very well known around the area and her bakery had the best goods, ever.

There are never posts open but she brings people in and gives them jobs. The unique thing about her bakery is that each and every worker has some kind of story to tell. They are all diligent workers and not all knew how to bake when they were employed but she taught those that wished to know and she spared no details.

She is the definition of a kind person. I could keep talking about her for hours but maybe I'll leave that for another time. The person I am most curious about is Elena, she was the prettiest person there, almost coming close to Rem but that's up for debate. All I know about her was that she wasn't born mute, there was something about a feud that happened between two Mafia groups from her country and she got caught between it.

That is all I know. I hope to find out the full story one day. Mainly on why she hates the name Nicholas.

Still, my job is simple. I clean up the whole shop and arrange everything in it's place. They arrive earlier than me and since I was the only student working there, I was given a shorter time and easier tasks. Leaving to bake would be a nice trade to hone though. If I had it my family would enjoy it a bit more.

Hmmm... That's a thought.

Upon entering the door, I was greeted with the sweetest smell ever. There was something about walking into a bakery early in the morning and getting the smell of freshly baked buns, cookies, muffins, and all the bakery goods. This has to be the highlight of my day.

Annie greeted me as I entered the door with the same smile but it faltered when she looked at me. She cupped my face in her hands and she said, "Goodness, dear, You look awful. Are you Ok? Did you get enough sleep? Do you want to rest up still?"

Damn. She never misses anything.

"Oh no, Annie, I just had a bad dream. So I didn't wake up fresh. Don't worry. I'm fine." I reassured her as best as I could. She didn't entirely believe me but decided to take my word for it.

I greeted everyone else there and changed into the uniform. I then started to clean up the shop and start placing the pasterys in the displays. Even at this time of the morning, people still come by and buy things. Many don't want to wait till during the day as the line used to be so long. But in order for them to get in the morning, they have to order the night before.
