My eyes shot open when I heard something breaking from outside. I carefully stood up from bed and look out of the window beside the bed. I smile as I saw the Hussyan Bhai car and a police car as well. I turned around when I heard a slamming and saw Umair standing there with an angry look on his face. I step back as he walks toward me.
"Leave me Umair." I yelled as he grabbed my arm tightly and started to walk outside. I screamed for him to leave me and suddenly he stops as we came out of the room. I look at him with wide eyes as he takes out the gun and put it against my baby bump.
"Quiet or I will shoot you and your baby right now. I am dead serious because if I can't have you then I won't let him have you either." He says quietly and I could feel so much anger in his voice. I swallow and keep quiet because I don't want my baby to get hurt.
He dragged me toward the back of the house and saw a door there. He smiled and look back as police, my brothers and Uzair tried to find me. I look at him when he grips my hand tightly and dragged me out of the house. As we came at a good distance with the house, he stops us and look back at the house. I saw as he holds up a small remote in his hand and shake my head as tears started to fall down to my face.
"No!" I yelled, but it was too late for me to stop him and saw as the house get blasted and flames started to rise more and soon black smoke filled in the air.
"Leave me. I want to go to save them." I say as I tried to run, but Umair held my hand and shake his head.
"You couldn't do anything now. I will kill everyone who will get in between me and my love." He says and laugh looking at the burned house. I feel anger started to rise in me. I take a step toward him and raise my hand to slap him.
"I don't love you Umair. If you think that by doing all this you can have me but you can't. Remember one thing, I will never be yours because I am Uzair's. We are meant to be together until our last breath." I told him making him glare at me, but I didn't care and start running back to the burning house. I stop when I heard a gun fire in the air and saw a few police officers coming around the house to us. I was about to run toward them, but I feel a grip on my hairs making me scream.
"Shut up." He yelled at me and point his gun at the officers.
"Stop right there. If you take a step forward I swear I will kill her. Put your guns down." Umair says to the officers making them stop and raised their hand to surrender.
"Good, now let us leave and don't try to follow us." He says and he dragged us to his car that was parked in the driveway of the almost finished houses. The car was fine, nothing happened to it, beside the windshield was broken but not completely.
"Please Umair let me go. You wouldn't get anything by doing all this." I begged him, but he didn't listen to me and pushed me in the passenger seat while he went to sit in the driving seat. He was about to open the door when he suddenly got a kick on his stomach from the front. I look and smile as I saw Uzair and Hussyan Bhai. I look and saw the door of my side open and smile as Ahmed give me his hand to get out of the car. I step out and hugged him tightly as I cried.
"Shh. Don't cry. You save now." He says and rubbed my head. I nodded calming down and pulled back to see Hussyan Bhai and Uzair beating Umair.
As Uzair punched him on his face last time, he falls back and was unconscious. The officers came forward and dragged him away. Both, Hussyan Bhai and Uzair look toward me and rush to me. I hugged Hussyan Bhai as I saw his eyes getting teary.
"I am sorry for not keeping my promise. I get failed, I am so sorry." He says tearfully. I know what promise he is talking about. When we left our parents, he promise Ahmed and I take care of us and to keep us safe.
"No Bhai. It wasn't your mistake. Please don't say sorry." I say and wipe his face before wiping mine as well. I close my eyes as I feel him kissing my forehead before he move with Ahmed to leave me alone with Uzair. I turned to him and feel my eyes getting water again.
"Are you just going to stand there?" I asked him shakily and saw as he steps forward and put his arms around me carefully. I wrapped my arms around his neck as well and close my eyes.
"I miss you so much." I say, pulling back and rested my forehead against his. I saw a smile on his face.
"I missed you too. I was so scared that maybe I am going to lose you two. I love you so much." He says and pulled back to look at me in my eyes. I smiled and put my one hand on his face.
"I love you more." I put my other hand on his mouth as I saw him started to argue and he laughs softly shaking his head with his eyes closed.
We were standing peacefully in each other arms when we heard a horn. We look and saw Hussyan Bhai waving us to get in their car. I smiled and held Uzair hand as we started to walk toward the car. As we were close, I stop when I feel my head spinning. I heard Uzair worried voice as I feel myself falling back into his arms and suddenly blackness take over me.
Uzair.
"Hurry up, please." I yelled as we wheeled Maham inside on a gurney. I rubbed Maham hand as it started to get cold and look at her.
"Doctor." Ahmed yelled for the doctor who was passing by. She looks at Maham and check her heart beat and pulses before ordering the nurse to get the OR ready and soon they take Maham away.
"Don't worry, she will be alright." Hussyan says as we stood in the hallway. I nodded and sit on the seat by the wall as Ahmed went to inform everyone about it and soon they were here with us.
After about an hour, a nurse came out with the same doctor. I stood up and quickly walk toward her. She looks at everyone before her eyes stop at me.
"You are the husband of her?" She asked me. I nodded and waited for her to continue, but she didn't. Her silence is worrying me.
"Is she and baby alright? Please say something." I yelled when I started to lose my patience. She sighs and looks down at the papers that the nurse handed her.
"Her condition is critical and we are afraid to say that we could only save one of them." She says making me shocked. I shake my head and take a deep breath.
"No. This can' be happening. I want both of them to be okay." I say loudly and feel hands on my shoulder.
"We are sorry, but we can't do anything. You have to choose one and you have to do it quickly or else they both will die." She told us. I shake my head and gripped my hairs tightly in my hands. I don't want to lose my baby, I can't live without Maham either.
"Uzair." I looked up at Mom and feel my eyes tears. I turned back to the doctor and take a deep breath before telling her my decision.
