“I am most certainly not doing that again.” Sienna admitted truthfully, rubbing her head for what was the millionth time yet. “Not if it’s going to give me a headache like this the day after.” Again, she scratched her head. Around a circular table in Luke’s kitchen, the trio sat, munching on some oatcakes and cheese.
“Me and Sienna are going off to a meeting after this, do you mind taking Rolo for a walk or whatever?” Luke asked Sara pleadingly- she’d gotten used to Rolo a lot more, she was more relaxed around him now and could easily take him for a walk or two if needed- it’s just whether she wanted to or not.
Sara nodded- she understood the importance of the two going to meetings- the fate of their jobs lay in the hands of meetings. Luke wouldn’t need to be at the school anymore since Sienna was back, but who would Sienna teach? It was a very worrying time, and it seemed they hadn’t talked to Sara about it in the past few weeks. “Of course, that’ll be fine,”
Luke stood up, tucking his chair under the table. Gathering up the plates from around the table, he leant over Sara to kiss her forehead sweetly. “You’re a real savoir, princess, you know that?” By the sound of things, Luke had developed a name of affection for Sara- princess. She didn’t mind, she loved it because it had her feel special.
In her pocket, Sara’s phone vibrated- it would probably be her mother. “Just let me take this call...” Sara pleaded, excusing herself from the table- she plodded off into the other room, flopping down onto the sofa like it was her own house. “Hey, mother,”
“Did you have a good night?”
Sara chewed on her fingers whilst she thought of how to phrase it. “Yeah, Luke brought me home, and me and Sienna stayed over, Katie had a nice night with James, so yes it was okay. I won’t be home until the evening because Sienna and Luke have a meeting so I’m dog sitting for him.”
“That’s fine, do the two want to come over for tea? I was thinking of a proper dinner- you know, meat and potato and that kind of stuff, very formal?”
Sara called into the kitchen. “You two, do you fancy coming round for a bit of a proper dinner tonight after your meeting?”
“Go on then,” They both chorused.
“Yeah, that’ll be fine, mother, thanks,”
“Bye, Sara,”
The phone clicked dead. “You’ll have to wear your best you know,” Sara warned them, idly fondling the pendant that Luke had bought her for her birthday. “It’s my mother, so you know what she’s like.”
“Oh, I do!” Luke rolled his eyes.

The meeting wasn’t long- only two hours, in which time Sara had walked Rolo and taken him to the park to play. She’d also had a shower when she’d gotten back to Luke’s house, and cleaned herself up, getting into a nice two-in-one dress which looked like a skirt and top rather than a dress, but it was a one-piece.
In the car, heading to Sara’s house, she questioned them on the meeting- Sienna had gone home to get changed and have a quick shower whilst Luke had a shower at his own house and got ready, then Sienna had brought Luke’s car back to his own house, they’d all piled in and were now heading for Sara’s house. “How did the meeting go?”
Sienna offered Luke a worried glance. “Fine,” They both shrugged. If Sara had been paranoid, she would of thought that the two were keeping something rather big, rather important from her- something they weren’t telling her.
The atmosphere over the dinner table wasn’t awkward, Sara had ignored the ‘fine’ comment in the car and put it to the side. Chloe asked Sienna and Luke about their career, and they replied with ease. She asked Luke about what he wanted to do with his life, and his answer was anything but sure...
