2. What the fuss

I entered my house and tiptoed upstairs when a familiar voice stopped me.

"Where were you?"

I turned towards the voice being a little shaky and my legs trembling.

"Mom" I said " I informed you before leaving".

"You promised me that you will return before dark and where's your friend Lola" she intrigued.

"Mom she went home. Her car got punctured on our way back to home. It took an hour for the mechanic to find us. You know about that area." I lied. Every time I meet Ethan , I lie to my mom that I was with Lola.

"Okay , if you say so but I am more interested to know what you and Lola were doing outside the house of those backstabbing Bluster" she said, angrily.

"Who?". I knew whom she is talking about but I tried to pretend not knowing.

"Outside that boy's house named Ethan".

"Oh...Ethan. Mom it's nothing . He is the only one in our class whose assignment was completed and the deadline is day after tomorrow. I just wanted to borrow his work". I lied again.

I went with Lola to Ethan's to meet him since his parents were not at home. Lola is a human and she doesn't know anything about me, I mean my kind. Her boyfriend is also a bluster , best friend to Ethan and she knows nothing about him.

"Okay....but I am warning you once again about them . Stay away at least a mile away from them. I have heard they are planning something fishy. It has something to do with dragons". She said , crossing her arms.

"I know mom. I am tired . I am going to get some rest". I climbed upstairs quickly as I said this.

After supper I was laying on the bed brooding about Ethan. Our meeting was a mere coincidence. I never realized how I got so much attached to him , a bluster.

When Lola accepted Rick's proposal I tried every possible way to convince her from staying away from him. But she was unconditionally in love with him. Rick is a bluster and I could not reveal her the reason of me being reluctant to him. After all she is a human.

Wherever Lola and Rick hangout , I had to stick with them , and Ethan was obviously there too. Slowly with time , my feelings for him grew and he was unexpectedly good natured. I never believed that blusters could also be so nice . But it is true.

We have been dating for two years . Mom is suspicious that I have a boyfriend and I have to build a plausible story every time. If I had a Razor boyfriend then it all would have been different and I would have told mom .

"Hey , gorgeous". A familiar voice spoke which I love to hear .

"You did it" I said with a grin.

"I had to . How could I not" he said.

He took my hands in his and was silent.

"Please say something" I said . His silence was killing me.

He pulled out a beautiful carved bracelet with gems and diamonds. He tied it on my hand. I was elated.

"I purchased it a few days ago. I wanted to give this to you before going as a reminder of me" he said sadly.

Tears were about to fall from my eyes when he jumped out of my window and ran towards his home in darkness.

"Good bye. Take care of yourself" I shouted after him rushing towards the window.
