10. Party

Me and Jacob entered hand in hand into the party. Nancy was dancing with one of her friends , when she saw us , she accosted. She was wearing a green short dress which was bedazzled. She looked really cute in that outfit.

" Thank you so much for coming". Nancy said.

" Wouldn't miss it" I replied.

We went onto the dance floor and began dancing on our heels. I was exhausted after dancing for a while so I grabbed a punch and sipped it slowly sitting at a couch in one corner. The DJ played a romantic melody . Jacob and Nancy were dancing together. I just kept gazing at them. They were looking so cute.

"Would care to join me for this dance?" a voice said.

I turned towards the voice.

"Nick." I stood up." How come you are here . I didn't noticed you".

" But I did noticed you". He said.

Nick is in my Maths class. There was a time when I had a crush on him. We have talked many times. He is a good guy and also dashing. Ethan would get jelous whenever I talked to him because he knew I liked him.

"So you know Nancy?". I asked.

"Actually , yes. She is my cousin".

"Cool".

"Wanna dance with me". He said extending his hand.

" I would love to". I said taking his hand.

We began dancing. My hand was on his shoulder and his on my waist. We swayed on the dance floor . He is a good dancer , I was able to keep up with him whereas Ethan is really a bad dancer when it comes to couple dancing.

Nick is a perfect comedian. Every second he would make sarcastic comments on other dancers or say something funny to make me laugh. I was literally enjoying his presence. He brought my fun part out of me which I had lost from past weeks and I too began commenting. We were laughing really hard that the other couples began staring us. I noticed from the corner of my eye that Jacob and Nancy were watching us amused.

Nick suddenly pulled me closer and whispered in my ear.

" I really enjoyed in your company today".

" Yeah, me too".

"You look lavishing beautiful today". He commented.

I was wearing a black halter neck mini dress and black heels. My hairs were pulled back and braided at the back. I hadn't expected this compliment from him. We have always talked fun thing about teachers and about maths. Nothing else.

We were lost in each other eyes when i momentarily pulled away. This is not right to think of him this way. I mean, Ethan cheated me but I haven't moved on . I just can't do this atleast not now. I excused myself and walked back to the couch.

"What was all that". Jacob asked coming to sit beside me with Nancy.

"What do you mean? Nick. We were just dancing and he is my good friend."

"No. I mean you looked blissful. You have been in a bad mood these days but with this guy you were actually enjoying".

" He is a great guy. That's all. He is Nancy's cousin. Ask her". I said.

"What he is implying is that you should stop crying over that freak. You must give someone else a chance". Nancy said.

I was about to say when Nick came , sat beside me and began chatting . We all began conversing about school and other stuff. Nick revealed that he never had a girlfriend because his eyes were always on one girl. We asked him the name of the lucky girl but he refused. Nancy doesn't seem to know about the girl either. After spending hours of talking and fun Jacob and Nancy left us alone to dance again.

"Do you mind coming with me to the terrace". Nick sked.

"Why?" I intrigued.

" I will show you something."

I agreed and went with him to the terrace. It was rooftop area for partying. Tables and chairs were arranged and were decorated with lights. At the centre of each table roses were laying. The whole terrace was exquisitely decorated with lights and lamps. But the whole place was vacant since the party was going on second floor.

" This place is so beautiful" I said to Nick admiring the beauty.

"I wanted to tell you something" nick said . I turned towards him." I have a huge crush on you from seventh grade. I wanted to tell you but I couldn't gather courage and then you hooked up with Ethan . I really like you and that Ethan dumped you maybe you have feelings for me. I know. I have seen it. Please be my girlfriend".

I was completely shocked at his words. I had a crush on him but I never felt anything for him . This all is so intricate. Suddenly heard a sound of something crashing. I turned towards the sound. Someone was watching us from the shadows. That person quickly ran towards the railing and jumped down. I ran behind towards the railing to check the person who just jumped , probably would be dead by now.

But that person landed perfectly and ran in the woods . His blonde hair cutted short. His tall height and strong physique could not be mistaken.

Ethan !

"What happened ? Was there someone?" . Nick asked.

I was still staring down in dark awestruck. I turned towards Nick.

" I have to go". I told Nick.

"But what about.....".

I didn't hear more from Nick as I dashed downstairs leaving Nick alone without his question being answered.
