11. The key

That night , I couldn't sleep. Nick was unmistakably there. no denying the fact. But what was he doing there. do i rally matter to him or it was just some mere figment of my mind due to which i'm imagining things. Jacob said , it might be possible that he was there , but what for ? This is getting complicated day by day. I need to find , whether he really came or not. If that was truly Ethan , then he must have left some clue for me. Whenever he wanted to see me , he would always sit outside my window and gaze at me all night while i'm sleeping and then leave a note taped to my window saying ' I was here , babe. And you look so pretty even while sleeping'.

Maybe he left something for me this time too. I must check. I checked my window , roof top and the land beneath my window. Nothing was there . Maybe that person was Ethan but our relationship was a sham this whole time. He was faking it this entire time. And I believed and loved him unconditionally. How can I be such a psychopath.

I woke up due to the loud disturbance from downstairs. I didn't realized when I fall asleep. I quickly jumped off my bed and scurried downstairs. I saw five men whom I quickly recognized as my father's ministers in our drawing hall. I moved to stand beside my mother who was listening to the discussion of my father with his ministers.

"What's going on ? What's this commotion about?" I asked Mom.

"Oscar confessed everything. They caught him this morning when he was secretly sneaking out the place through the back door."

"So what did he confessed ?" I asked.

"He doesn't know much. He only knows that his master , Bob has been reading this book of Dark Lord and Ethan is helping him to implement whatever evil plans his father have. And Oscar was just instructed to guard it till they are back. Oscar is begging for his life." Mom said.

So Ethan is really aiding his Dad in his wrong intentions. I should have known it. My heart crushed again , though I know about this truth. But it hurts everytime I hear it from someone else.

"So now what ? What Dad has decided ? And where is Jacob? ". I asked Mom searching the house with my eyes for Jacob.

"That's what they are discussing . You will get to know about it . And Ethan had to go to Nancy's place" .

"Does he know about all this? I mean about Oscar's confession."

"No , Jacob doesn't know because he left early".

"Okay" was all I could say.

After hours of conversation , Dad decided that he should get back to the island . This matter is of extreme importance and can be taken care of only if Dad goes back to the island. And Mom will be staying back with us to look after us.

When all the ministers left . Dad took me to the study room to discuss something imperative.

"Alicia , honey . As a princess you have done a great job" Dad said patting my shoulder.

"Now, as you know I'm going back to the island . You still have to be responsible and continue your training while I'm gone. And when the right time arrives I will call you to the island."

"Call me ! But for what ?". I asked bewildered.

"There's one thing u must know , Alicia. The firstborn of the Razor heir holds the key to the magical prison where Dark Lord recides." Dad said looking into my eyes.

"Which means...... I hold that key." I asked puzzled.

"You are right my dear. This has been a custom that the key gets passed to the next future heir. Before you , I held the power of that key and only the beholder of the key can access it's powers. But I never came across the key. It's some ancient magic by which the whereabouts of the key are passed to the next heir. "

"That means you may know where the key is."

"That's the biggest hitch. Though they say that the beholder holds the key but you have to figure out it's whereabouts. It's not easy to find. I tried but could not reveal about the key".

"And , now you want me to find it." I asked.

Dad nodded.

"But how. If you weren't able to find it then how am I supposed to find it".

"Alicia . When there is a threat then only a person tries gathers courage. Similarly , I didn't tried hard to find that key because it wasn't necessary till now. But now , it is imperative for us to get the key. You have to figure out every figment of your memory. You will get clues once you understand your memories. Meanwhile, I will go back to the island to trace the location of those Blusters".

I nodded in agreement . It's not going to be an easy task to find the key. But I have to , so as to stop Ethan's nasty plans.
