They stared at the beautiful Siren in the moonlight, silent, before their eyes darted away.
"I...I..." (Y/n) stepped forward and delicately rubbed their thumb across Maya's cheek, which grew warm at the touch. The two locked eyes, and taking this as consent, (Y/n) leaned in and gently pressed their lips to her forehead.
"Sweet Dreams."
Before they could separate, Maya grabbed their shoulder and, without thinking, returned the gesture. This shocked them both, considering Maya was not an affectionate person. The two of them welcomed the new, tender closeness between them, and neither dared break it first.
