Tavion in the MM

"Tavion you ready?" I heard Tayana say from the other side of the bathroom door.

I looked in the mirror and frowned, I hated Black clothes. The last time I had on all black was when My Grandmother died, I was six, but even then I always felt like wearing all Black was a sign of despair. I remember talking to my Dad about this.

"Dad, why do we have to wear all black?" I asked him as he was helping me put on socks.

"Tav, you're not wearing all black, your shirt is white." He said looking up at me.

"Yeah, but you can barely see it, all you see is the black vest, black jacket, black pants, I hate it." I said pouting.

"Well Tav, we wear Black as a sign of mourning for the dead, it's like paying respects." He said fumbling with my pants.

"But Grandma's favorite color was red, why couldn't we pay respects to her by wearing her favorite color?"

"Because Red gives off the impression that you hated the person, or you're glad they died."

"Well at my funeral I want everybody including you Dad to wear blue." I said scratching my arm inside the cuff.

My Dad let my pants leg fall and stood up and looked at me, "Hopefully, you'll be burying me instead of the other way around, but you can be the only one to wear blue at my funeral okay?" He said rubbing my head.

"But Dad, I don't want you to die!" I said about to cry.

"Don't worry man-man, I promise you I'm not going anywhere anytime soon." He said as he picked me up and we walked out of the bedroom.

"Promise?" I asked him.

"Yes I promise, I wouldn't lie to you." He said as he kissed my forehead.

But he did lie.

Ten years later, he was dead, and yes, I did wear Royal blue to his funeral.

"Tavion you're okay?"

I snapped out of my own thoughts and I answered, "Yes I'm coming out."

I looked at myself one more time in the mirror and then I walked out.

I went into the kitchen where everybody else was sitting around the table, every one of us had on black and white and the mood was still as gloomy as it was when I left.

"So did anyone hear any news on Mrs. Little?" Tiana said as I sat down.

"Nope, but the DNA results will come back and it will be her finger that was sent to me." I said placing my keys on the table.

"Come on Tavion, you can't think negative like that man." Jimmy said.

I turned to him, "Negative? I'm thinking realistically."

"Well what do you think this guy wants from you?" Tayana asks me.

"I don't know Tayana, I don't even know why this is happening to me. I don't have any enemies, I keep to myself."

"This guy has to know something about you, I mean why else would he kill Alec and kidnap his mother?"

"I mean he could've gotten Alec's name from the interview we did on the News." Jimmy said.

"Or he could go to our school?" Tiana said.

"Maybe the guy hates gay people."

I just sat there why there while they threw out theory after theory, and then I had enough.
