Blaze sucks his teeth as he crosses a wire and a spark lights up the small piece of tech he's working on. He sets aside the fried device and sighs. This whole deal is bumming him out. After recovering his memories he had hoped to return home. But he found out that a few thousand of his people are trapped in stasis by unbreakable crystal coffins. If that wasn't enough his two sisters Inferna and Flame are also among those trapped. The two people who matter most to him.

Blaze is Haustian. A race of humanoid fox people who lived on the planet Haust. Technologically advanced and full of culture Haust thrived in an era of Utopian peace. Lush green forests and crystal clear rivers comprise the entirety of its surface due to Haustian innovation that allows the plants to ensure the weather cycle stays within habitable parameters.

It also is unique in that the barrier between dimensions is thin. So much so that those who have passed into the afterlife can be easily contacted. Though, it is not as prevalent as one would believe it to be. A garden has been specifically set aside for communication with passed ancestors. It is a popular place for proposals so that the ancestors may give their blessing to their living relatives. On Haust, the dead played a major role in the growth of the empire.

That is, until Malik the God of Conquest arrived. Haust had never done battle with a being of this caliber and were woefully unprepared. Blaze led the charge but ultimately the only one able to hold his ground. As Haust evacuated, Blaze held his ground and fought the conqueror to a stalemate. But the victory was very much short lived. As Haust's four moons broke apart in orbit a pillar of harsh teal light came cascading down onto Malik. Further more it left gaping wounds in reality. Wounds that soon became infested with Cleaners, existential creatures that consume distorted reality to keep it from spreading out of control. Malik had let his existence become a living hive for these creatures in exchange for their ontological powers.

Blaze fell into a rift that ripped and tore at his mind. Though he survived with his sanity intact he lost memory of the events of that day. As well as the knowledge of where his sisters and people were scattered to. Only through a long and arduous task of recollecting his memory fragments had he begun to remember. Now, though, he must become a murderer to free his sisters.

It is unclear how the members of the evacuation shuttle carrying his sisters became sealed in these coffins. But the coffins will only open after Blaze's body count reaches a high enough number. At present Blaze has either killed or experienced killing well over a hundred thousand people. Many of these lives were taken by living through memories that were not his own. Vincent, one of Zaak's core existences has been assisting with Blaze's morbid task. By allowing Blaze to live through memories from the past lives and alternate existences within himself Vincent has essentially created simulations that meet the requirements of the coffins.

Blaze checks the time. It's almost time for this weeks session. He wonders what horrors he'll have to witness this time.

As Blaze walks into the Chamber of Memories he looks around at the high vaulted ceiling. It is a marvel to behold. The lights in the room reflect off of the royal purple crystal that makes up the walls. The ceiling itself is a swirl of gold purple that sparkles like stars. Blaze sets himself on the chair and waits for Vincent.

"Don't look so gloomy. Today is the day you free your sisters." Vincent announces as he enters the room.

"What horrific massacre am I committing today?" Blaze answers back wanting to joke but failing.

"It's a pretty bad one." Vincent says. "Genocide. Pretty much. The memory I found is of a emperor who bombed his enemies home planets into nothingness."
