Lily sits enjoying a pastry from the kitchen as Exiguus chases a squirrel.  With the evening sunset casting fierce orange and purple skies in every direction she laments that her mind is on such unsavory matters. It's never been her will to be apart of this. She just sort of... fell into it. Exiguus nudges her. He can tell she's troubled.

"I'm fine." Lily says. Exiguus doesn't seem convinced. "You want a treat?" Lily tempts. Ancient and old words appear on her skin. Her Seals are arranged in the form of Script. Essentially the source code of the universe. It's said that when The Creator created the world this was the language he spoke. She doesn't know if that's true. She doesn't care either. Using the power of her Seal of Infinity she wills into existence the necessary ingredients for a femur. And a femur appears.

As Exi occupies himself with the bone she reflects on what led to her circumstances.

Lilyth is a Dragonborn. But not just any Dragonborn. She has the unfortunate luck of harboring the first, oldest, and most obnoxious of them all. The Great King of Skies and god of dragons, Rexixar Aeteril. As cool as it should be it's anything but. She constantly had an old geezer complaining in her ear. Not to mention it made her a target of the King of Beasts.

In the Age of Dragons, all living things were made to bow to dragons. Dragons spoke the language of creation and thus ruled absolutely. This did not sit well with the rest of the animal kingdom and eventually they went to war. It was a victory easily seized by dragons. The other creatures were reduced to animals ruled by nothing but their base instincts. In the war however a particular band of primates sided with the dragons. These apes were allowed to keep their self aware sentience and became the first humans.

This alliance lasted for countless eons. Until the dragons began to perish from old age. But in the years following a curious few individuals began to appear. They spoke Script and knew of things no child should. These were the first Dragonborn. They marked a new era. An era where dragon and human souls became irreversibly entangled. And war began once more.

The dragons were not the only beings to have their souls reborn into new vessels. In a desperate attempt to save themselves Noble Beasts stole a tome of script and used the knowledge within to make their souls eternally bound to the material plane. For centuries the Noble Beasts lie in wait among humans for their chance to strike. And in the Age of Dragonborn their found their moment.

Countless dragon souls were lost. The Noble Beasts using their twisted dialect of Script created a weapon capable of sealing dragon souls within the gem atop its pommel. Here Lilyth found herself a target in a secret war that she had never known existed. Her only option was survival.

Using not only her library of Script but her cunning and tenacity she put an end to the Ageless War and freed the souls of the countless dragons from their prison. The Great King of Skies sacrificed himself to shatter the gem. Lilyth, though she had her fair share of grievances, was heart broken at the loss of her old friend. But what is dead may never die. Especially so because Old Rex had made a deal with Zaak.

It had come to be revealed that Old Rex learned the Script from Zaak when he was still young and new to his Seals. The two were old friends and Rex had been given seals of his own. Seals that had been passed to Lilyth through their shared soul.  It was then that Lilyth separated her soul into two halves. One half was hers. The other belonged to Old Rex, who was given a new form. Exiguus.

Exi returns his attention to Lilyth.

"Oh nothing, just thinking about our past." Lilyth says scratching his neck scales. Exi flutters his wings in response. "I don't know... I don't know what's right. He's your friend. What do you think?"
