(A/N: Hey guys, sorry this is late, I've been in more of a 'reading' mood than a 'writing' mood, and I am a REALLY slow typer. So, typing takes a lot of my - I have very little - patience, hurts my back, and tires me out. (ALSO IT'S SUPER HOT RN IN MY HOUSE AND I'M DYING) BUT! Enough complaining, I can barely type anymore and I need to edit and upload so enjoy!) WC: 2463

As one grows older, memory tends to fade. Childhood starts to fade into a distant thought, then to nothingness. Although a few moments stick, shining through the abyss of forgetfulness. The scarce gilded moments that deem themselves worthy of withstanding the test of time.

Most tend to connect an emotion to said memories. Embarrassment, anger, shame, happiness, sadness, innocence, etc. But no matter the aura of the recollection, they stick around longer than most. Providing a shoulder to lean on when one feels down, or maybe a helping hand in remembering the best in a lost loved one.

Memories are like delicate butterflies, so fragile and frail. Unique in its own way, a different kind of beautiful depending on what light you choose to glance upon it with. But as rare and beautiful as they may seem, like they are forever in your grasp, they can flutter away in a blink of an eye.  Spreading their wings of differing hues, and taking flight to the wide expanse of blue sky, sometimes for good.

It's comforting to relapse back to the days where one was free, naive and blind to the world around them. To just forget their responsibilities, and live through their memories because they could never be that carefree again.

As Jungkook stood atop the bell tower, arms wrapped around coarse ropes, gently leaning over the open archways to which there was supposed to be glass. He recollected an aged memory, it was tattered and worn, withering at the edges, but it was there all the same. Its golden light glowing brighter as the autumn wind swept through the chapels highest tower. The wind whisking Jungkook away from the present, from his worn body teetering over the edge, only held up by a meager rope. Straight into his sweetest memory, that had yet to be tainted by the ticking and tocking of Father Time's grandfather clock.

It was summertime, the sky was clear and the most vibrant shade of blue. The plush green canopy of the forest sticking up abruptly through the endless azure. Tall grass sprawling over the expanse of every open space its greedy hands could touch. Farmer fending back the miscreants trying to protect their sprouts, and maturing plants. But it was of no use against the clan of rowdy children that trampled after each other, a stamped of youngins that cared not for rules set forth by their adult peers.

They ran through the village, through the fields, around baskets full of produce, and even through the open door of stores and homes. Not a care in the world as girls and boys alike shrieked in glee, making grabby hands towards each other as they screamed of cooties.

One particular group of boys ran around quite recklessly, seeing who could cause the most ruckus with their rampaging. Not caring for the overturned baskets, nor for the nearly shattered pottery. Especially not for the screeches of maidens as they waved their fists in rage, colorful bouts of curses following soon after. It only brought a smile to the boys faces, egging them on.

The task soon turned to see who could piss off the maidens the worst, and not get caught by their vise like grips and spanking palms.

Jungkook ran with this group, helping spread trouble and mischief throughout the village. Bare feet smacking against uneven cobblestone, hands reaching out to knock over basins. He even spotted a harmless garden snake, to which he let slither into the women's meeting house. (Their secret spot to gossip and exchange recipes for all kinds of food.) Only to run across the street into the arms of the awaiting boys, as they watched patiently with shit-eating grins.
