Altean OCs (s6 spoilers)

Oh. my. god. This is just, why..

Nobody can execute this well and it's all because of one *mostly this* reason; they change the scene with Lance and Allura. Instead of Allure falling into Lance's arms, it's the OC. Like fricken, unless you want this to be a Lance x OC story, don't freaking do it. Unless you want your OC to be a weak little thing, go damn right ahead.

If doing so, maybe introduce the character like they didn't with Romelle, but with a twist. Have the OC on a planet with another species and the paladins go there for a mission there and meet your OC. BOOM, paladin interaction and story plot begins. Have a story to why they're on that planet. BOOM, backstory.

Another way to do it is your OC is stuck as a prisoner and you just woke up from your 10,000 year nap (I need one for sure) and your kidnapers are horrible. That could go three ways.

One: they save themselves. Self explanatory.

Two: they send a distress call like the weak damsel they are or,

Three: the paladins go their for a mission while your OC is trying to escape and you accident bump into each other

BOOM, backstory there too.

I also see this a lot as well.... *sigh* Allura's little sister. I will take no shame in saying that I have done this....

The Allura's little sister OC is just a ripoff of Allura herself and is an annoying little bugger. To fix that, you could make the OC compliment the love interest. If it's Lance: make the OC shy and flustered 24/7. If it's Shiro: make the OC childish and playful, but not super annoying. If it's Keith: make the OC calm and caring. Wow, I wonder how hard that was to do that. **heavy sarcasm**

If you are going for a weak altean OC (most people won't but still) make them a Librarian or an Alchemist. Maybe even a chef?? Do simple things like that and you have an interesting Altean OC
