-Orion-

(Pronounced like O-ry-an)

The sound of my voice bounces off of my bathroom walls, as I bathe myself.  The dirt from my body falls off of me, and disappears into the drain beneath me. I ,personally, love taking baths. I love being wet.

My thoughts consume me, until my phone rings. I dry my hand off and grab my phone from the nearby counter. I hold it up and my roommate's photograph shows. I answer, and put it on speaker.

"Yes, Alicia?" I say, as my voice echoes off of the four walls.

"Ri, there's a guy here with an axe in his head and he wants me to lead him to his family." She explains.

"So what's the problem?" I ask.

"His family live in Italy. He died while working on an international construction project." She says.

"I'm coming." I say.

"Okay. Please hurry." She wearily says.

I hang up the phone, and step out of the tub. This is a normal thing for Alicia, and I. She's a medium, which means she can see and hear people who've passed away. She's had this ability all her life, as she's told me, but she never knew why.

She told me that the first time she remebers speaking with the dead, is when her brother died in a car crash. She saw him watching his own funeral when she was six. Ever since that day, she's never been the same.

I rush to my room, and lock the door. I let the towel wrapped around me fall to the ground, and grab and crop top and shorts from my dresser. I put on a pair of socks, and rush down the stairs.

I see Alicia standing in the middle of the livingroom, looking at an empty corner. I know the man is there, but I can't see him. Alicia's face is wet from the tears coming from her eyes.

I walk over to her, and put my hand on her back. As I do this, I can see him. He is middle aged. Almost around 45 or older. He has a five o'clock shadow, and his eyes are deepset. Blood stained his flannel shirt, as the axe in his head stands prominently.

"He's been here for like five minutes." She says.

I step closer to him, but Alicia grabs my wrist. I look back at her, and she shakes her head no.

"I got this." I say.

She continues to hold my arm, so I could still see the old man. I touch his face, and he begins to look more human rather than looking like ghost.

"Ahh! Who are you? Where am I?" He asks.

"Hello. My name is Orion, and your name is?" I ask.

"Flavio Rinaldi." He says.

"Okay,Flavio. I have to tell you something, and it might be a little overbearing." I say.

He nods his head.

"You died." I bluntly say.

"NO! Th-that's crazy. I'm not dead." He yells.

"Yes, you are. If I take my hand off of your face, you won't be able to see me anymore." I say.

"Well, then how come she can see me? Huh?" He asks, pointing to Alicia.

"She's a medium. She can automatically see people who are deceased." I say.

"Oh, no, no, no! What about my wife? My daughter." He says.

I feel a tear running down my face, as he continues. I don't know why I'm able to partially see the dead, but I can. I can only see apparitions when I'm touching Alicia, otherwise, I can't see them at all.

"I'm so sorry, but you can't stay here. You're scaring my friend and you need to pass on." I say.

"Pass on to where?" He asks.

"I don't know, but you have to go." I say.

"Okay." He says.

Out of nowhere a ball of light appears. He turns his head, and a tear falls down his face. He takes my hand, and holds it in his.

"Thank you." He says.

I nod, and he lets my hand go. I can no longer see him, but Alicia can. Her tense shoulders soon become relaxed, and I know that he has passed over now.

"Thank you." She says.

"I got you, ma. Plus, I love connecting with the people that you see." I say.

"If you had to do it 24/7 you'd hate it." She says.

"You're probably right." I say.

She hugs me, and thanks me again. She lets me go, and looks at me.

"I honestly don't know what I'd do if I didn't have you." She says.

"I'm only here to help." I say.

I walk back upstairs, and walk to my room. I open the door, and what I see almost fall down.

On my plain white wall reads: "You're not human."

I'm not human?
