The sound of a cannon woke Amberle from her sleep.
She was disoriented, the room was strange, unfamiliar. But the worst part of it all was the pain echoing through her head.
She reached up to touch the spot that hurt most and found a small bump located just below her temple, cursing at the pain. Sitting up abruptly her head started to spin from the fast motion causing her eye sight to blotch with black spots causing temporarily blindness, she fell back into the soft touch of feathery pillows and thick duvets, she had never in a million years thought she could sleep on something that felt so similar to a cloud and she knew immediately that it wasn't her bed.
The pillows had a masculine smell to them, reminding her of something wild. As she looked around the bed, she could see that the bed was surrounded by a golden veil blocking her view of the room around her. Memories from last night suddenly became clear as she remembered the Pirate, Lucian Gold. 'Had he hit me on the head?' The last thing she remembered was Lucian pulling the locket from between her breasts, looking at it like it was something of great value, the only value it had was sentimental.
As the thought occurred to her I reached up quickly for the smooth silver chain, panicking when it wasn't there. "Where? Where is it?" Grasping at the nightgown with such panic that the material tore leaving most of her chest bare, but still covered enough to be considered modest.
The door to the room suddenly slammed open rebounding off the wall as the person yelled " get to work! Let down the main sail, i want full speed you hear me, full speed!" The door slammed closed as the person stomped around the room picking up things and dropping them again, not being able to find what they were looking for.
Slowly and surely she tugged back the veil enough that she could see around the room. It was empty. She began to pull the veil back further but quickly stopped as the person came back into the room from what looked to be the bathroom. She hid back behind the veil acting as though she was still sleeping.
"I know your awake darling, don't try to pretend you're not." His voice was like velvet, husky and low with a hint of arrogance hidden inside.
Slowly she began to tug away the veil once more revealing 'The' Lucian Gold, Captain of the Queen Anne's Revenge or that's how he so haughtily introduced himself last night. A flash of him hidden by his hat came to mind and she remembered his see through white shirt he was wearing and how handsome he looked. Shaking her head she reprimanded herself for thinking such thoughts, focusing on the present moment as she looked over to Lucian who was looking at back at her with a heated gaze, it was a second before she realised he was looking a bit far south.
"Do you have no shame!" She scolded as she crossed her arms over her chest to hide the bare skin. She watched as Lucian's face fell from the gesture, his eyes which were once filled with an unknown emotion turned back to a cold hard expression.
"Don't see why I should " he murmured taking off his shirt and throwing it on the nearby chair before he turned towards a cupboard and began rummaging through things. His muscles flexing with each movement, she looked away from him not wanting to be caught staring at him in an unwomanly fashion. "I'm on your ship aren't I?"
He let out a dark chuckle as he pulled a new shirt from the cupboard and sliding it gracefully over his flexed arms. Not even answering her question as he pulled another piece of clothing from the wardrobe, it was a long dress unlike anything she had seen, it had a white base material that reached the floor and the sleeves were bunched up and had a brown corset with flowing brown material lose over top of the white to about knee length.
