Summer ☼ Part 1

"Ouch!"

Jack grabs his foot in pain.

"Hiccup, dude! Haven't I told about leaving your foot around for me to trip on?", he rants, shutting the door behind him.

"Uh, sorry..." Hiccup mutters, sitting at his desk, staring out the window.

Jack takes his shoes off and crashes on the bed. He looks one more time at Hiccup, unmoving.

"Earth to Hiccup."

Hiccup continues to stare at the landscape outside.

"Dude!"

"What?"

"Where were you just now?" Jack laughs.

"Nowhere." Hiccup turns to the opened book on the desk in front of him.

"Hiccup..."

"What?!", he sounds irritated.

"You're having girl thoughts."

"No. I am not. I just have a lot on my mind." Hiccup scowls.

"Yeah, a lot of girl th..."

"Shut up, Jack", Hiccup interrupts "I'm trying to study."

"It's Saturday!"

Hiccup turns on his chair to stare at his roommate.

"Don't you have anything else to do, today? It's sunny, for once, why don't you go play football or something?"

"Nah, it's too hot out there."

"Most people love it when there's sunshine."

"Well, I prefer the cold. And don't change the subject. What's her name?"

"Who's name?"

"The girl." Jack says with a mocking voice.

"There's no girl. Not everyone has to have a crush and let their lives be consumed by their need for the love of someone else."

"Okay. I'll back off of your love life." Jack crosses his arms behind his head and stares at the fan on the ceiling. "I, on the other hand, have no problem accepting and dealing with my feelings. You should try that."

"Speaking of which, how are things with Miss Arendelle?" Hiccup gives him a malicious smile.

"I'm working my way into her heart." Jack says, confidently. "Although, sometimes I'm sort of afraid she might be a little too much for me to handle...", he frowns.

"Told you you're too young for her, buddy."

"I'll be 18 in a couple of months. Besides, I'm an old soul." Jack states.

"Three years may be a small age gap, but it makes a lot of difference right now."

"I can be a mature guy!"

"No, Jack, you can't."

"Yeah, you're right. Growing up is a trap and I'm never doing it", he smiles.

Hiccup raises an eyebrow at him, smirking. He turns back to his book. Toothless climbs on his desk and lays down, purring. Hiccup scratches his head and smiles tenderly at the cat.

There's a knock on the door.

"Who is it?" Elsa calls.

"Hey, sis, it's me."

Anna greets her with a tight hug as soon as she opens the door.

"Anna! What are you doing here?"
