Marinette: The Princess of China

A Trip to China

Marinette was in class, waiting for the bell to ring. Yes, she was on time for once. When she arrived at school 20 minutes before the bell, Alya and Nino didn't miss the chance to tease her about it.

"Good Morning class," Mrs. Bustier said after the bell rang. "Good Morning Mrs. Bustier." After that Mrs. Bustier spoke of the things they would be doing in class. She had also mentioned a surprise, which caught everyone's attention. But, before anyone could ask any questions, Mrs. Bustier started class. She did say that the sooner they got through class the sooner they would get to talk about the surprise. Therefore, the entire class period was silent, except for when people we answering questions.

"Now, we still have an hour left in class. What would you like to do?" Mrs. Bustier asked. Almost in sync, the class responded with an excited yell of "Surprise" referring to the surprise Mrs. Bustier had told them about at the beginning of class. "So, I guess I should tell you about the surprise." The class just nodded, excitedly. "We are taking a month long trip to China and at the end of the trip we get to got see the Princess' coronation, By invitation of the King and Queen" The class broke out into excited yells but Marinette just looked mortified. After she noticed Mrs. Bustier's smug expression, Marinette's shocked expression turned into one of realization.

Marinette rose from her seat and spoke in a strong but firm voice "I guess you know about my status in China, based on the way you looked at me." Everybody in the class was shocked at how firm Marinette's voice was. Nobody had ever heard her speak in such a tone and were really shocked. "I'll have you know that I will have to use my phone during class to plan out the events for the month, as well as any excursions that we will have. Now, if you excuse me, I have a phone call to make." Soon after that had been said, Marinette walked out the classroom phone in hand.

Once Marinette was out of the classroom she dialed her parent's number, hoping they would pick up. After a few rings, her parents picked up. "Hi Sweetie, I'm assuming that you've heard about the trip!" Marinette was pretty upset at her parents from hiding this from her. "Of course I know, the whole class got excited about it!" Marinette responded in a passive-aggressive way. "I also figured out that Mrs. Bustier knows that I'm Princess!!!" After a few more minutes of conversation, Marinette hung up and went into the classroom. Marinette's parents called Mari again whilst she was in the classroom. "What?" Marinette said, annoyed. "Marinette, Honey, we're sorry we didn't ask you beforehand. Will you please forgive us?" Marinette exhaled, trying to calm down. "Look, the damage is done, but, yes, I will forgive you. But I really wish you would've asked me first. There was also this mention of one month, care to tell me what that's about?" Marinette's parents didn't respond. They were nervous. "We thought you were going to tell them." Marinette was getting mad again. "After 11 years of keeping this secret, you think I'm just going to go and tell them!?!?!? I've had to keep this secret from so many people that are really close to me, and now you want that all to go to waste! Wow, I can't believe you guys. Well, I have to get to planning out this month. I have a few days planned, but god, it's hard to plan stuff like this. You know that. Anyways, I got to go, bye" Marinette hung up, still really mad.
