Phillip walked into the kitchen of Caroline's Maid Cafè. His mother couldn't afford a babysitter so she just took him to work with her. It was a happy sweet environment. All kinds of people went there and they're all accepting. And Phillip has grown to be a tiny entertainer at this packed sweet cafè. But all that is beside the point. Phillip was off to see his mother Caroline while she was baking for sweets. He looked at her and puts his arms up as gesture to be picked up. Caroline sat him down on the counter and she smiled at him. He looked around and back at his mother. Phillip then blurted out "Mummy, all the workers say you have a secret ingredient to your sweets" he pointed to the bowl she had infront of her. Caroline was mixing flour and hot water for some dough. "Could you tell me? I will be making sweets soon anyway~" he continued. Caroline looked at him with a soft caring expression, you know the 'you're my sweet child' look. "You have a point kjære..." Caroline said. She began to kneed the dough to perfection. "My secret ingredient is not love, caring,or compassion. It's sadness." Caroline finished her sentence. Phillip furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. "But mummy-" Phillip started a sentence but Caroline cut him off. "Baking is a special hobby that I have shared with special people...it makes me happy. Baking takes all the sadness out of my body and leaves me happy..." Her voice cracked. Caroline took a deep breath and continued "when I serve it to my customers and they eat it,they enjoy it. The sadness inside does not effect them because They're happy people all the time and immune. For people who are sad just like me...It's the thought that making the pastry means a lot to me...that makes them happy.". Caroline paused. "Or it's just the taste..." She smiled. Phillip looked at her strangely. "Mum..are you okay..?" He said. Caroline picked him up and hugged him.
"Of course I'm happy my sweet child..."
