"I want you to know that I had no idea that was going to happen." Chanel explained yet again. Garrett was driving us to get my car as promised while Chanel had given us some spare clothes. Pascal was given a mini skirt and sweatshirt while I was wearing short-styled overalls with a tank-top underneath. Definitely not my style but it's better than wet undergarments.
"We know, just thanks for trying to stop them." Pascal answered.
"I wonder why Nia has it out for you guys." Mused Chanel, "It's been going on for years."
I couldn't help but laugh. "Your guess is as good as mine."
"But did you see all those bugs?!" Garrett voiced from the wheel. He had been oddly silent, but then again, Pascal and I did have to change in his backseat. "Like, where did all of them come from?"
Pas and I shared a look and Garrett must have noticed because he let out a deep chuckle. "You know? I don't even want to know. Just know that I respect."
Finally we pulled into the parking lot of the towing company and Garrett put the car in park after stopping at the front door.
"Well thanks for the lift. I would offer you money but I don't have my wallet." I shrugged.
Garrett waved his hand at me. "You're fine."
"Good luck you guys! And HAGS!" Chanel called once Pas and I were out of the vehicle.
"Ditto!" Pascal called back as their car rolled away. She turned to me with a smirk. "You were actually going to give them money?"
I scoffed. "Hell no." We laughed and made our way to the door. The parking lot was full of all different kinds of cars stretching in all directions. Lamps illuminated the vehicles but my car was nowhere in sight. "It better be here."
"It will." Pascal assured.
We stepped into the small shack building. The floors were layered in a dusty cover so think when we moved our shoes imprint was visible. The walls paper was peeling off but the smell is what really got me turned off. It was a mix of dirty socks and expired hamburger with a hint of porta-potty.
Pascal started gagging right away but I was too anxious about my car to care about this fine facility. I marched up to the lady sitting at the front desk with a jogging Pascal in tow. The elderly lady smiled at us through black and brown teeth.
"Welcome to Ron's Towing and Recovery. How may I help you?" She asked me.
I eyed her name tag before responding. "Trudy, Trudy my dear, I'm Aqua-Marie Nickles and I'm here to pick up my Jeep." I smiled at the lady but she just eyed Pascal and I. From her stand point I guess it would look a bit odd for two sleazy looking girls demanding a towed vehicle at seven-thirty at night.
"Model and year." She finally demands.
"Grand Cherokee, oh-one." I answered quickly. Trudy immediately started tapping at her computer and within moments she looked back up to us. "Your car is here-"
