A Vulpix ran as fast as it could, it's pursuers advancing quickly. He huffed and panted but fear drove him deeper into the woods into an area he had no idea how to navigate. A Thundershock struck him and he cringed but he kept running; he was outnumbered and if he stopped...

He didn't want to think about that.

He heard his chasers laugh. Suddenly the forest opened up into a small clearing and he had to jump back as a Thundershock struck the ground in front of him. He was trapped now and he knew it. He heard the sound of electricity and barely had time to turn around as a Pokémon tackled him, the Spark attack landing perfectly. He was thrown across the clearing from the force and knew he couldn't get up. The Spark had paralyzed him and now he was practically helpless. Two paws blocked his view and he looked up to see Shinx smiling smugly down at him. Soon the rest of Shinx's gang caught up and surrounded him.

"You're a fire type, if you even knew how to fight you'd be able to get some damage on me," Shinx taunted, " but instead you're a coward and run away. Can't you even use Ember? Come on, hit me with it."

Vulpix cringed, he knew Ember but he hated fighting. Not to mention his aim was terrible.

"Why would you just let me attack you," the Vulpix asked.

"Because no Pokémon should be so weak, you had so much time to get stronger but instead you stayed weak and let others push you around. It's pointless," Shinx said, shaking his head.

"But isn't letting me attack you pointless too? You'll just finish me even if I do," the Vulpix went on.

"No, if you attack me and manage to hit me I'll let you go this one time. My point will be made."

Eevee, Scraggy, Buizel, and Pancham stepped back. Vulpix knew he couldn't bring himself to summon up an Ember just to hit Shinx and get away, he didn't have the heart. Even a weak Ember of his would have to hurt and he'd never used his fire powers unless he had to which was practically never. Vulpix sadly tensed for the finishing blow.

"Buizel, soak him," barked Shinx. Buizel stepped forward and prepared to use Water Gun when a Thundershock struck him.

"I've seen enough," a voice called out, "stop right now!"

Buizel fell to the ground as a Pokémon lept from a tree into the clearing. Eevee ran in for a quick attack but was met with a Thundershock. Shinx went with Tackle while Scraggy and Pancham helped Buizel up. Shinx's Tackle missed as the mystery Pokémon backflipped to dodge it. They were yellow and small but proving to be capable of handling multiple opponents. While Shinx and Eevee battled the Pokémon Scraggy and Pancham helped Buizel over to Vulpix. Buizel readied a mouthful of water.

"Hold it, or Vulpix gets soaked," Pancham threatened. Everyone stopped and looked.
"This was none of your business rat, you intruded so step out," Scraggy added.

"I'm not going to just stand there while you beat up and abandon that Pokémon! I heard everything you said Shinx, and I'll take you all on myself if I have to to make you leave them alone," the Pokémon declared.

"Buizel is ready to let loose on Vulpix if you so much as flinch," Shinx warned "but hey, if you think you're tough enough to take us all on be my guest. I'm just pointing out that before you can get out another Thundershock Buizel will have soaked  Vulpix and everyone else will be on you. You'll wind up like him, defeated and ditched."

The Pokémon knew how dire the situation was.
"What do you want for the Vulpix's freedom?"

Eevee laughed and Shinx twitched his tail.
"Let Buizel hit you with Mud Slap dead on, a super effective attack for a super effective attack is a fair enough exchange. Then you can have the Vulpix and you both be warned now that if we ever catch either of you weaklings alone you're history," Shinx declared in ultimatum.
