I followed solemnly behind Alpha Malum who seemed to have a skip in his step. The black smoke that had been surrounding him had dissipated into nothing by now. I wondered if he was born with the powers or if it was some type of black magic. Maybe he sold his soul to the devil. That made more sense.
"Beta Caesar."
I snapped out of my thoughts at the voice of Alpha Malum. I kept my eyes trained in his well-built back as the conversed.
"Alpha." The Beta nodded curtly. "The car is ready for your transport to the Pack House."
Alpha Malum said nothing. He only patted the Beta's back as he passed him. Such a simple gesture and yet it left me baffled. How could someone so powerful and evil be so considerate when it comes to respecting certain people?
Must be nice.
All I get is his angry, hormonal, my-dick-is-super-big kind of attitude.
"Sophia," Alpha Malum hissed. I gave him a smug smirk. He must have known what I just thought about him.
But his reaction wasn't what I thought it would be. I forgot in that split moment that he can sense what I am thinking. Maybe I could use this to my advantage.
His raven eyes locked on mine, the dark colour swirling around as his hands clasped around my wrist. He began to pull me away; not rough enough that it looked like he was dragging me but not gentle enough that it didn't hurt.
Beta Caesar nodded his head to me. I gave him no acknowledgment, even after I saw Mekhi peek from behind a hallway a few feet away.
The two of us walked quickly down different hallways. Alpha Malum was quicker than me only because I was in heels. He better not think that he's so damn tough or he has got another thing coming.
As we continued to walk briskly through different hallways more maids would appear, each one stopping every time to bow at Alpha Malum who seemed unfazed and showed no emotion. I, on the other hand, gave them a small smile and curtly lowered my head in a sign of respect. Of course, I respected them. They had to cater to this whiny and angry baby.
We soon reached the front doors which were as tall as I remembered when I got dragged back into the castle after finding out Beta Caesar was Mekhi's father. I shivered unintentionally.
I winced when Alpha Malum tugged a little harder. A low rumble could be heard in his throat as his feet hit the cobblestone road that led to the outer gates of the castle. His black hair flew in the quiet breeze that would also gently flow the bottom part of my dress around my legs.
How expensive this dress must be. I hated dresses. This could be going to someone who actually felt pretty when they were all done up in a fancy dress with a handsome man.
I coughed a little. Handsome? Far from that! He was repulsive! A cockroach that was still alive after being squished by a shoe. There was no way on Earth or Hell that he was handsome. Why would such a thought like that go through my head? And at a moment like this of all places?
Alpha Malum cursed under his breath. I didn't hear anything else he mumbled because the wind gusted up right at that moment. I hoped it was just a coincidence.
"Alpha Malum," a male said. He bowed his head and opened up the back door to a black Mercedes car. It wasn't all that special. I thought it was going to be a Tesla or maybe a Lamborghini.
"Love, you go first," Alpha Malum murmured. I scowled internally as I carefully sat down on the leather seat. The door closed and I sighed. It was the first time I felt at peace. Of course, that was ruined when the door opposite of me opened up and Alpha Malum gracefully slid down into the seat across from me. There was only one seat in between us which wasn't enough.
