I wake up happy; today's Graduation.
And Dreams of the Dead is at my house, they're still talking to me, by the time I wake up. Sebastien and I aren't together anymore, but it's not that weird.
"Can someone please toss me the outfit on the back of my chair?" I call from the bathroom. I just got out of the shower. I remembered to grab under-crap, but not the actual outfit that I'm going to be wearing under my graduation robes. Someone tosses me the floral American Eagle romper. It's really cute. I look really cute.
I've looked cute a lot lately. I've been putting in so much effort in my last few days of North Brooks. I've been feeling really confident too. It's a very new feeling.
I'm so excited. We're going on tour soon and then I'll be moving to Missoula.
This romper looks really cute with my Fenty Beauty "Stunna Lip Paint". I love this lip color so much, and it makes everything fit together.
"Is your speech ready?" Blake wonders, as I exit the bathroom.
I was asked to give a speech before people start crossing the stage, the way a valedictorian or salutatorian would. I'm neither, but they still want me to do a speech.
"Yep." I say, walking over to my closet and pulling out wedge sandals. "It's ready and memorized and I'm ready for it."
"Let's hear it." Jasper's sitting on my bed.
"Dear students, friends, and family," I begin, taking a deep breath, ruffling my damp curls to give them slightly more volume, "and everyone else. My name is Amelia Fields, but most of you either know me as Mollie or Mollie Hazel. Fun fact, I became Mollie Hazel out of spite. So, junior year, I had this one teacher that I really looked up to, but I got kicked out of his class. Everyone thinks that I withdrew, but no, I was kicked out."
And here, I'm planning on glaring on Mr. Liszt, who will be sitting with the Wind Ensemble, who will be playing "Pomp and Circumstance". I'm an asshole like that.
"I became Mollie Hazel to make that teacher and my ex-boyfriend mad." I'm going to admit it to the whole town. I'm going to admit as to why I became Mollie Hazel. "Anyways, I'm getting off-track. This speech is supposed to be about goal-setting and stuff like that." At least, that's what I was asked to give a speech about. I'm going against my dad's orders here; he's the head of the Class of Twenty-nineteen, so cheers to him. I sigh, and then stop with the speech. "Okay, so that's all I'm telling you guys now. You've got to wait until the ceremony to hear it."
I sit down on my bed next to Jasper, pull on the wedged sandals and ruffle my hair. Sebastien's sitting on the other side of Jasper.
"Who's ready for graduation?" I ask, standing up. "Ow. These hurt."
I'm not normally a heels person. I don't do well in heels. Like I can walk well and run in them, but they hurt my feet like no other. I'm putting Vans in my truck for when my feet hurt too much and the party afterwards. I always have extra, more comfortable shoes stored somewhere whenever I have heels on.
Blake and I are doing a combination party at "Riverside", a nearby park. Well, a park that's close to my house. Not nearby to the school. I like living near a park because it makes for a good place to go when I don't know what to do. At my old house, I used to walk to another nearby park, but I honestly prefer "Riverside". It's bigger and it's got more things. Also, it makes a good stage for free concerts. I'm really looking forward to it because I'm going to dance my heart out. I'm going to not give a shit and I'm going to dance and I won't have a care in the world. And then we're going to the North Brooks Drive-In. Dreams of the Dead and I are.
