It had been one week. Only one week since Sirius was killed. One week since Remus had been left alone to wander the hall of Grimmauld Place. Remus hadn't been able to bring himself to enter Sirius' room, doing so would mean acknowledging that Sirius was really gone, that the love of his life had left him forever. There had been no funeral, no proper time for Remus to say goodbye.

But today Remus decided that we would face the memories that were collecting dust in his mind. He pushed the door open, glancing over the unmade bed, the piles of musty clothing and finally the photos on the walls. He was drawn to a certain photo, a younger version of himself and Sirius, smiling brightly at the camera, eyes sparkling with happiness. Remus smiled as he remembered the seconds before this moment was captured, Sirius' shocked face as he leaned in and closed his eyes. He remembered Sirius' hands cupping his face and gently pulling them closer together. Remus recalled Sirius smiling softly at him as they parted and gazed into each other's eyes. At that, Remus' knees buckled and he collapsed. He didn't want to let go yet. So, he decided that he wouldn't and would hold onto to Sirius' memory for as long as possible.
