Remus Black weaved through the crowd firing spells, swerving to avoid the lights that streaked past him. He had returned to Hogwarts for the final time to fight against the dark wizard Voldemort. He was glad that he was finally called to do something in this war, tired of hiding behind the walls of Grimmauld Place and wallowing in grief. Remus rushed through the halls, firing spells as he passed by, searching for the wicked woman that took his husband from him. He turned a corner and froze, feeling the laceration that now adorned his chest. He glanced down at the blood soaking his shirt and then up at the young blond man in front of him, both sets of eyes filled panic. The shocked young blond man fled the scene of his crime as Remus collapsed onto the floor.
Remus heard footsteps, then saw his husband smiling softly down at him, sadness hidden in his kind eyes. "I've missed you", Remus coughed out, staring up at Sirius, admiring his shaggy black hair and his beautiful grey eyes. "It's time to leave now love", Sirius whispered, his voice reminding Remus of all the jokes they shared and the nights spent in front of the fire whispering softly to each other. Remus could feel his life leaving his body, then suddenly it was gone. Sirius helped him up and Remus glanced down at his body surrounded by a halo of red.
Remus turned to Sirius and they walked together, welcoming Death's cold embrace.
