Odysseus and Penelope

It has been years since I saw my husband's face. He was sent away to a war.

The day he left. I wanns hold on to him as long as I can. Never let him go if its possible. I wanna be selfish. Greedy. I want my husband to stay by my side.

But no.

He has his duty and so do I. As a wife.

That was the biggest regret I have ever made in my life.

The war has ended. But no husband came home.

They said he went missing in action.

I wish I can turn back time. Then I would have never let him go.

2 decades passed.

The memory of my lost husband never left me.

It continues to haunt me day and night. Every waking moment.

People say I have to move on.

I have to take a new husband to help me.

But how can I?

When my heart left with him that day.

Wheb I looked around me everytime. Seeing dozens of suitors flock my home day and night.
Barging in my office too. I pray everything would end.

Each would challenge one another for the seat as the head of our house.

For the head of our company.

But no one wavers.

I pray my husband to show up and kick them out of my life.

"You need to decide. It's been 20 years." One of my assistant told me.

"I've decide. I will wait for him to return to me."

"Madam.."

"Stop. I won't hear any of it. He is alive. I can feel it."
I've been telling that to everyone. To myself. I know they think I've gone crazy. But I don't care. He will return to me.

So I did everything I can to stop any marriage proposals.

I would pretend to be sick. Depressed. In mourning still even though it's been years.

But the board is restless.

"I've been managing this company for a long time. I've overlooked everything. I don't need any man. I only need one man." I told them that.

Countless times. But this time they've turned a deaf ear.

"The board has decided. There's a man. A very wealthy man who own 51% of the shares."

"What?! I never allowed that!"

"He convinced the board. They sold their shares. In return for something much more. And your suitors..."

"What about them?"

"They're enraged. They're planning to take over the company Madam!"

"Let them try. I dare they do try."

I say on my chair and asked her to leave me.

"Madam. Ithe meeting will be in an hour."

I sighed.

I stood up and nod.

"Let's go."

------------------

"Madam Ji it has been years. You need to pick out your successor. Someone who would help you manage the business." One of the board member said to me.

I was sitting at the end of the table. I looked at every disgusting man with me in the room. Knowing theu only wanted what my husband and I worked for.

"Even though my husband was active in his service. He buildt this company from scratch. Assisting every veteran and soldiers all over the globe. He is the heart of this company. And you want me to hand it over who might destroy it in seconds. I will never agree to it!" I slammed my fist

They were a lot of angry remarks. The room was in chaos. Everyone was debating.

When the door suddenly opened.

"This is a close meeting! What are you doing here?!" My assistant exclaimed.

The hoodedn man didn't answer.

"If you don't have a business here sir. Please leave." I said.

The man approached one of the secretary and handed him a paper.

The secretary read the paper and his eyes widen in shock. He ran over to me.

"Madam. I think you should read this."

I scanned the letter and fear gripped my heart.

He is the man. The man they said who own 51% of my company's share.

"Sir." I called out to him. "Where did you get this?"
I asked. He didn't answered.

He slolwy walked towards the middle and looked at the board.

"Leave." He said. His voice. Something is different and familiar with his voice.

No one moved. None of my suitors moved.

I slammed his fist on table.

"I said leave!!" He yelled. He pulled off his hood.

I gasped.

I covered my mouth as tears started to form in my eyes.

The hooded man faced me. With sadness in his face.

"I'm the rightful owner of this company. I'm the legal and righful husband of the woman you woo." He said.

"Yeobo.." I whispered.

I stood up quickly and ran to him. As soonl as I reached him I jumped at him and wrapped my legs and arms around him. He tumbled a bit but was able to steady himself. He wrapped his arms around me and placed his face inside the nook in my neck.

"Yeobo...." He whispered.

He let me down gently and I grabbed his face.

"You're home.. you're finally home."

He just nod.

"I knew you're alive. I knew you will never leave me..." I held on to him so tight. I'm afraid to let him go.

"Yeobo.. Im sorry it took me this long. I was..." I cut him off.

"Shhh.. none of that is important anymore. What's important is you are back. Here with me.."

He cried and held me tight.

"I missed you so much.." He sniffed.

"Me too.."
