Silence. Weird thing isn't it? But what exactly is silence?
If I'm sitting with my grandma and we are chewing is it silence? Technically no because in the background you can hear the cars on the street. Or is it silence when you are in a soundproof room with only you and your breathing. Technically no because there is still a noise.
But imagine total silence. Nothing. Personally I don't really know what that is because I always listen to music.
I think that there are different kinds of silence.
Total silence. Nothing not even the cars on a street or the noise of your own body.
Lonely silence. If you're home alone you hear other people outside so near to your house but still they seem so far away. It's like you're there with them but not able participate. You're completely lonely.
Awkward silence. It's the worst of them. It's the kind of silence at an awkward dinner or a conversation went to a point where there's nothing to be said. Usually you don't experience it during talking to close family. I do every goddamn Sunday. It will never leave the table once you're in you're so not getting out of there easily.
Is awkward silence just awkward because we make it awkward? Because silence its self isn't awkward at all.
