"Sirena! Wake up! Come on! Hurry! Please!" I woke up to Molla crying. At first everything was blurry, then I started to notice everything. The first two things I noticed was that I was wet yet again and we were under the dingy. It seemed to be flipped upside down on top of us. Molla's voice echoed inside the canoe as she pleaded for me to wake up.  "Come on! Please!" She shook me.

     "W-what's going o-on?" I mumbled sleepily.

"Fishermen," Molla breathed. My eyes grew wide and I was wide awake as soon as she said it. "What?"

"Yes. Fishermen are always looking for mermaids to capture so they can become famous and named The Best Fisherman. Well...we fell asleep out here last night and I woke up this morning to being dragged out of the boat by a hook hooked on my tail. I almost never got it out. My tail hurts really bad but we can't go back go the reef."

     "Why?" I asked.

"We will endanger all of the merpeople there! If there is one human mermaids never trust no matter what, it's a fisherman." Molla explained. I looked down into the water and saw nothing but red water. The once crystal clear water was now red with blood and that was one way to attract a Great White for sure.

"B-but Molla," I laughed nervously. Fear coursed through me faster than my own blood. "If we don't get you to a doctor, we will get eaten by a shark. Now, we have two options. One: Go get you help and warn the guards that fishermen are chasing us or two: hide here and get eaten by a shark." My voice was stern and sincere but I was cold turkey on the inside. I was so terrified.

"But...I-I," Molla started. "I- the lives o-of all th-those merfolk...th-they'll..." Her voice grew fainter and fainter. The redness of the water only got darker and darker. Then Molla just altogether collapsed and she started sinking.

"Molla!" I screamed. I grabbed her and with out thinking I took her to the reef. "Please. Don't leave me, Molla. I already lost my sister. Not you, too." I sobbed and pleaded.

When we got to the reef, I swam the streets screaming, "Help! Please! Someone help us! The fishermen are after us and...and... oh god! Just help us! Please! She needs a doctor! Someone, anyone, call a doctor!"

Merwomen covered their children's eyes from seeing the horrible, gory sight of my best friend losing ounces of blood by the minute. Mermen took their families home quickly and some tried to help hold up Molla. As soon as guards heard the word fishermen, they all swam to the top of the water with their weapons. I broke down on the sand crying as Molla was taken from me by a group of mermen and one merwoman doctor. The streets were vacant of families and the shops were all locked. Of on one side of the street, the female mermaid doctor and the assisting mermen, worked to save Molla and on the other side, I was sitting down crying.
