Detroit. The city of the future.
Trailing your ungloved fingers wondrously against the cold bricks of a graffitied wall, your eyes wander in amusement to the new world you found yourself in - the city of the androids.
In Canada, androids were still banned until further consideration of the country's future, yet... something inside you stirred when you first heard of the beings.
Something struck you very wrong.
They look like people, do they not? But they weren't, were they? Kinda creepy, you thought, as your first ever opinion, but you soon warmed up to them before you came to the country you were raised from the age of 8 in. You hadn't had contact with them for 16 years, as you moved from the United Kingdom to Canada for that duration. The flashing light at the other side of the crossing flashed an unnatural, neon green, signalling for you to go.
Something undoubtedly struck you wrong about the androids; you hadn't realised what that was since you first shook a hand belonging to one of them.It felt so... real.
Human.
You reminded yourself every time you glanced that there was no emotion, no empathy behind their eyes - and yet... That's what struck you wrong. There was something there - something... real - and some humans were to preoccupied with their own selfish desires concerning the beings to ever consider the faint possibility of such feelings... such...
Sentience.Shrugging your long train of thoughts off and into the cell of your mind, you watched as ribbons of golden light blended into blue as the cars passed by, and finally the warm shine of your eyes found your destination.
The police station.
A new world awaited you, and this would be the heart of it.
