Connor falls without grace through the broken window. The Saint Bernard perks up his ears at the sudden louder intrusion and stands over Connor -who bewilderedly looks up at the animal.
"E-easy..."
"Sumo!" You call the dog. "We're your friends, see. We're here to save your owner."
The dog, upon hearing his name, saunters over towards his food bowl and lies down beside at, detecting no threat from either intruder.
You kneel down over Hank's head and place him in a recovery position instantly, checking his pulse and airways. "No signs of choking - just blackout drunk."
You state as Connor kneels down the other side of him. "Lieutenant?" He asks unsurely. He pats him twice firmly on the side of the face with a flat palm, earning an intoxicated gurgle from the man on the floor.

Connor looks at you. You raise your eyebrows and with that order slap Hank - hard. "Wake up, Lieutenant!" You yell down at him from less than a foot away from his face. "It's us - Connor and Y/N!" The man splutters and groans in drunk protest.
Connor slings his arm over his shoulder and drags him up off of the floor, and you whip around and get the other side of him that swayed drunkenly.

"Hey, leave me alone you fuckin' android! Also why did you bring your fuckin' girlfriend?" He questions, making you snort in pre-amusement, knowing he wasn't serious - although your cheeks did dust slightly pink at the comment.

"C'mon, buddy, lets get you sobered up." You and Connor drag him towards the bathroom. "Thank you in advance for your cooperation." Connor states, and you giggle at his comment. Hank grumbles. "Sumo, attack!"
Sumo barks.
"Good boy... attack!"
You place him face-front against the wall as you open the door. He groans. "Oh, I think I'm gonna be sick."
You struggle with him and Connor takes him off of you and places him in the bathtub. "I don't want a bath, thank you."
"Sorry Lieutenant, it's for your own good."
Connor then proceeds to turn the faucet and cold water sprayed out of the rusting shower head.
While Hank screamed for someone to turn it off, you couldn't help but read the notes by the side of the mirror, such as the classic, 'I'm not grumpy'.
You hear Connor turn the faucet off, and the after stops running. Hank is gasping for air, and you pull out your phone and take a very quick photo of him drenched in the bathtub with Connor standing over him.
Hank gasps for air, and you can't stop the low chuckle playing out your throat.
He stops, confused, then eventually says," What the fuck are you two doing here?"
"A homicide was reported 43 minutes ago. Me and Y/N would appreciate it if you-"
"You know what, Connor? Fuck your damn mission - is that all you care about?"
You raise your eyebrows, and as soon as your about to speak, Connor interjects," Fine, we'll leave, then. A man found dead in a sex club downtown," He pauses before stepping out of the door. "Probably wasn't interesting anyway."

Hank is quick to protest. "You know what... it might be good to get some air. Could one of you... grab me some clothes from my room?" You snicker at the irony.
"Sure thing, Hank." Both of you say, and Connor gestures for you to go first, before following you into his bedroom and opening the closet door. "What do you want to wear?" The android yells.
"Ah, anything." All of his shirts are either brightly coloured or patterned, and you snort to yourself. "What do you think?" You whisper, pulling out the most absurd. To your amazement, Connor smiles. "Perfect." He states. You grin wider and leave the clothes in the bathroom while Hank pukes and groans.
"Thanks," He says, leaning over the toilet bowl. "Want me to hold your hair back?" You ask him. He shakes his head groggily. "No, no... just give me five minutes, I ain't no Gen-Z schoolgirl, god."
You nod and leave the room with the android.

You take these 5 minutes to explore his house nosily. You head back to the main table after petting Sumo, and Connor looks at the weapon on the floor. "What were you doing with the gun?" He yells. Hank replies,"Russian Roulette!"
You frown, and Connor flicks open the cylinder and looks down at it. "You were lucky. The next shot would have killed you."
Hank laughs from the other room.
You look upon the table, and find most of the things upon there uninteresting, but then an overturned photo frame catches your eye.

You flip it over, and there in front of you is a picture of a young boy.

"Connor?" You call. He's behind you in seconds.

"Yes?"
"Can you... do a face scan of this boy?" You whisper. He nods. You wait patiently.

"His name is... Cole Anderson. Born 23rd of September 2029."
"Hank has a son? Who is... nine?"
Connor shook his head - surprisingly sombre. "No. He would be, but from reports it says he... he died, October 11th, 2035."
Your face falls upon looking at the happy little boy in the photo - his bright eyes and cheeky composure, and - very gently - place the picture back down, face down as before. Your fingers, however, are hesitant to leave it.

You turn around and find Connor blocking you. "His photo causes you sadness?"
"Yes." You state, knowing Connor may not understand. "I can't imagine how... oh god. How Hank feels. I... I remember what happened to me when I wasn't much older than him, and that utterly shattered my world - as an understatement." You say blankly, your eyes finding his yet you stare into a space behind them rather than at him.

Silence. That was all there was as you stood so very close to one another and you reminisced in your past you dreamed to remember happy before the incident that caused you to be shipped away to a school and torn from the arms of your caring household android, Darwin, a person you viewed an older brother with rights and hopes and dreams like anyone else. You remembered the look in his eyes as they finally managed to separate the both of you and the final contact of brushing fingers before you were hospitalised and sent to Canada for special training you had managed to avoid for 6 years on the run - a child among trained hunters -before they eventually caught you.

Connor looks somewhat confused. "Is... there any way I could make you temporarily feel better?"
You smile at him thankfully but shake your head. "No, no, I'm fine. Thanks Con." You say, and go to move past him but he remains still. You go to push last him again, and look up at him in bewilderment. You stand there pushing on his chest for a good 3 seconds before he reacts.

His arms are around you in a heartbeat, and your own decides to increase at the sudden contact and the shock of what Connor was doing.
Very hesitantly, your arms reached around him yet again, and this time they locked behind his middle and he pulled you closer to him as you put your face into his warm chest, your grip growing tight along with his, his chin by your ear because of your short demeanour.

"You forget I'm adapted to suit human unpredictabilities." He murmurs into your hair. You laugh. "Yeah, right, like you could really predict this." You push up onto your tiptoes and quickly kiss him on the end of his nose as a form of friendly gratitude. "Thank you, Connor. I feel a lot better now, admittedly."
You can't see his face a blushing mess and his eyes open wide, shocked and confused and overwhelmed by software instabilities.
He would need to be checked and purged of these errors immediately, yet something stopped him from pushing away from your figure and instead held you closer for the time being. For the first time he began to feel...
Happy. He didn't really know if it was really that but although it needed to be exterminated as it was a transgression against his very code, he uncertainly and cautiously let it flow through him for that one moment.

'Just this once,' he thought to himself, and he hugged you a little harder before loosening his arms ever so slightly on your back.

At the sound of Hank shuffling warily down the corridor, still half drunk, you both soon let go of each other and stand awkwardly side by side.
When he reaches the corner and spots your somewhat burning face he gives you a questioning look which you deflate with a death stare instantly. He looks to Connor who seems to show nothing at all and nods, acknowledging his confusion, and gestures for you both to follow him.
With a quick glance back up at Connor who looks no different, you let out a small giggle, gaining a side glance from the taller android and a small smile tugging at his lips without his conscious permission.
