"Hey Hank."
"What is it, Y/N?" He grumbles. You were fairly sure he was done with you already- and only into an hour of working here. "Do you like dogs?"
You see his eyes flicker fondness, and you deem your answer yes. "Why?"
You giggle. "Is it not okay to probe my fellow officers for information about them so I can work with them better in the field?"
He snorts. "Who said you'd be working with me in the field? Or in the field at all?"
You raise an eyebrow. "Would it not be a waste of talent to put the highest ranking officer of my schooling division in the literal filing cabinet?" You gesture with your eyes to the rows upon rows of files a sloping young man was sorting. "Highest rank, huh? What got you into this, anyway? Not usually like girls, excuse my stereotyping, to go into law work like this."
You shrug your shoulders and redirect your eyes towards the terminal in front of you. "My background, I suppose."
His eyes flicker towards you. "Oh, so now we're being vague, Miss Top-Of-Her-Class?"
Your pupils dilate as you fix him with a sadly amused stare, saying nothing as the smirk on your face says it all.
He grumbles and turns back around. As soon as he does, you are greeted with the sight of a system error.

Authorization temporarily blocked?

"What the hell?" You frown as the screen flashes red. You glance up around the room and your eyes find the greedily infuriating stare of Gavin Reed.
"Why you little...-" You begin, slowly rising from your chair in low-key fury.
Oh, you knew he was going to be trouble already.

And this proved it.

Like an animal, your upper lip began to curl into a silent snarl; that is, until a - very - warm hand placed itself gently on your shoulder.

Head whipping around at the speed of a snake in strike, your gaze snapped and focused to find those of an unfamiliar, warm eyed android. You quickly analyze his features, but at the first glance of those chocolate irises he broke down your defenses in a heartbeat.

Instantly your expression softened, and somehow, so did his - distinctive without difference.

"Hi, my name is Connor. I am the android sent by Cyber-life." He addresses himself so formally it makes your cheeks colour in a rose-flushed manor. His charm was disabling - was he meant to be programmed his way, or was it deviancy tiptoeing into the fray? You didn't know, but you felt completely paralyzed by this android's heating gaze.

"H-hi! My name is Y/N, Y/N L/N." You hold out your hand to shake, which he confidently takes. At the touch, his LED flashes quickly yellow like a brief buffer on a video. His glaze lingers, but then hesitantly turns from you to the screen. "Would you like me to help you with that?"
Your face lights up in relief and you clasp your hands in front of you in shyness. "Yes, please, if you would." He nods and places his hand upon the terminal - you see the graphics vaguely pixelate before turning back to blue as the screensaver. "Thank you so much!" You lightly bow, and he takes the courtesy to pull out your chair for you, gesturing you to sit down. Astounded at this kindness, you sat thankfully, and the back of his hand gently caught your back - a shocking warmth.
All the while Detective Reed glares a storm of sharp objects at the interaction.
You catch his eye and smile ruefully at the man - then turn back to the android, the RK800 named Connor, and thank him again with all the genuine happiness you could express.
"My pleasure, Miss Y/N." He gave you a nod in polite departure, leaving you oddly flustered in flicking through your new stacks of paperwork.

"To answer your question, Y/N," Hank muses," I do like dogs."
You snort loudly, which turns into a humorous laugh in which you have to cover your mouth to conceal the hideously cute gurgles erupting from your amusement, making him wince from a forgotten memory, yet he couldn't hide the bemusing grin that crept onto his face without consent.
