It's complicated

Chapter 1

Annie's P.O.V

I wake up to Tom snoring beside me. Tom slept I've last night due to the fact he got kicked out of his home, again. It seems like he stays over almost every week. I wish he would just control his temper. Sometimes he gets so angry he starts to clench his fist and attempts to hit someone. It's not his fault though, he must have some sort of anger issue or something. Whenever I bring 'anger issues' up in front of him he will just storm out the room or he is in denial. Whatever. It's his choice whether he wants help.

I gently shake Toms arm, trying to wake him up.

"Tom wake up. It's 7" I whisper in his ear.

He rolls over to face me. "Ughh bitch just let me sleep"

On that note I get up out of bed and head to the bathroom to freshen up. Why does he have to be so rude? It's not like I am rude to him. I am super nice to him, that's what girl friends are for. I stick up for him when no other person does. He should thank me for it. But instead he is damn right rude.

I quickly splash water on my face then apply some make up, chuck on leggings and a top then head back to the bedroom.

'Tom I mean it, get up. I need to be out the house soon" I walk over to him.

" I said I need to sleep!!" He sits up and stares at me with his big angry eyes.

"I am not aloud to leave you in my house alone, you need to leave"

"You are such a bitch" he hastily gets up and storms out of the room. A few minutes later the front door slams shut.

I am meeting Luke in 10 minutes over his to play some video games. Every Sunday morning we both have a video game day, it's like our little 'thing'. We have done this for the past 5 years since we were both young. We keep a tally who wins each game so at the end of the year the winner gets to dare the loser to do anything they please, it's a little childish but it's still fun!

After I get ready I head over to Luke's, he only lives round the corner. I reach his house and knock at the door. A few seconds later Luke appears at the door wearing a blue tank top and grey traccy bottoms. He runs his hands through his blond hair.

"Hey Annie, come in" he smiles at me

"Ready to get beaten?" I tease him

"Me get beaten? More like you getting beaten" he smirks at me

"Whatever floats your boat" I wink at him then walk into his living room where he has his Xbox set up.

After 3 long hours of non stop gaming, we decide it's time for a break. We both ordered a pizza which will arrive soon.

"So how are things with Tom?" Luke sits next to me and hands me orange squash

"Not so great. He stayed over last night" I sip the drink

"Oh..." Luke looks down at the floor "what did you do?... Wait no don't answer that... I am sure you... Um"

I laugh at him "Don't worry, we didn't do that"

A wave of relief sweeps over his face. "What happened then?"

"Well just the usual" I sigh

Luke puts his hand on mine. "You deserve someone better. You shouldn't put up with it"

"I know, you keep saying"

"Annie I mean it, he is horrible to you. I hate the way he treats you. Sometimes I just want to punch him... But I won't because you would disapprove"

"It's fine Luke, it's not that bad..."

"If you say so. Now let's get back to the game" he smiles

"Sure"

Luke's P.O.V

I really don't see what she likes in him. How can someone so sweet like her end up with a dickhead like him? I just don't get it. It seems like everyday she complains about how mean he is to her, why can't she leave him?

Anyway she said it's fine so I should believe her, even though I know it's a lie...

Just as I am about to beat her the door bell rings. I get up off the couch and answer the door. It's the pizza man. I pay him for the pizza and head back indoors.

"Hmmmm that smells lush" Annie gets up and sniffs the pizza.

She takes a slice of pizza and starts to eat it, getting the tomato sauce all down her chin.

"Come here" I laugh as I wipe it off her face. She looks up at me and smiles.

"What would I do without you?" she laughs "come on, I'm winning"

"Ohhh no you're not" we both dash to the controllers and start playing the game again.

A few more hours pass us by. I could spend all day playing video games with her. I love the face she pulls as she plays. She crunches up her nose, it looks like she is about to sneeze or something haha.

*beep* *beep*

My phone goes off.

"Luke for god sake turn it off, I am in middle of beating your high score!!" Annie moans at me. I pause the game. "what are you doing?! I was nearly there!!"

"I have a message from michael"

<I'm outside. let me in.> it reads

I get up and let Michael in. He strides into the room and immediately sets eyes on the pizza.

"You had pizza without me?!" he says

"Mikie we can't always share pizza with you" laughs Annie

"You could have called though, I would have been over in a tick"

"This was mine and Luke's pizza. You know we have pizza together on Sundays"

"It's sunday?! I thought it was friday!!" he looks shocked

"What? how could you think that? We had a gig Friday" I say

"Ohhh yeah..."

"You're so stupid" laughs Annie

Annie P.O.V

Michael has always been the more kinda laid back sort of dude. He is forever forgetting days of the week and stuff like that. Sometimes it funny but I can get annoying when you have to constantly remind him about his upcoming gigs.

" Anyway I should get going now" I say as I gather my stuff together

"What? why?" Luke looks taken aback

"I promised Lilly I would help her get ready for her date"

"Can't she do that by herself?" Luke asks

"No she cant. I will text you tonight, yeah?"

"Fine. I won though" Luke smirks

"Nooooo I did"

"But that's the thing annie, I won" he runs over to me and starts to tickle me

"Luke!!! stop!!! hahaha!! luke!!" I whin as he continues tickling

"Not until you say I win"

"Nooooo never!!!!" I laugh. He picks me up and tickles me on his couch. I try to get off him put he is sat on me.

"Guys stop flirting. It's really awkward for me" Michael says

"We aren't flirting" Luke stops tickling me and stands up

"Yeah we aren't" I get up and straighten my clothes "bye"
