"Get your hands off me," Daniel said. He looked up. "Dad!"

"Now you can both watch your sons as they beg for mercy," Giselle told Douglas.

Struggling against the chains him and Mr. Davenport were trapped in, Douglas shouted, "Get your hands off my son!"

Seriously?!

"Your son?" Marcus asked. "You mean like I was your son?"

"Wait, he's my brother?!" Daniel exclaimed, confused.

"Yeah. But not for long," Marcus said, using his super strength to throw him across the room.

Seeing the pained look on both his Dad's and Daniel's face was satisfactory all in itself.

"Marcus. Please. Stop," Douglas begged.

"Are you kidding? I could do this all day. And I think I will," Marcus replied, striding over to a terrified Daniel.

A few good throws later, Daniel wasn't looking so good, and the words "PERIMETER BREACH" had popped up on Giselle's cyber desk.

"I'll go take care of it," Marcus volunteered.

"No!" Giselle said sharply. "Let them get their hopes up. They won't get far." With that Giselle left the room, electro whip in hand.

Sheesh, clam down, Giselle.

"Aah!" Daniel battle cried, hitting Marcus with a pipe from behind. Since Marcus was an android, it simply bent around him, causing Daniel a great deal of confusion.

"Well, look at that, ya broke my pipe!" Daniel exclaimed. Marcus shrugged, then forcefully bent Daniel's arm and walked back to Douglas.

"Marcus!" Douglas yelled. "I know I built ya to be evil. But we can be a family again! You, me, Daniel. Maybe we'll adopt a girl, or a kitten!"

"I hate cats."

"C'mon Marcus. It's me, your dad," Douglas begged. "Let's fix this. All ya have to do is release these restraints."

Marcus stopped and stared at his dad.

Dad seems... Different. The old him would be yelling at me in anger. What changed?

"You could have a family. Isn't that what you want? A family?" Douglas pressed on.

Family?

"Look, I'm sorry, Marcus. I know I shouldn't have left you. I made a mistake. But that doesn't mean you have to. Believe me, anger doesn't lead anywhere good."

H-he's sorry? I can tell by his eyes he really is. Why I didn't I see that before? I could have a family. Dad's sorry. And different. But am I different? Would the others really accept me?

For the first time, Marcus felt guilty. About he's done to hurt his family.

Slowly he let go of Daniel, who ran to the other side of the room.

See? He wouldn't accept me.

"I'm the bad guy. I don't get a happy ending," Marcus told his dad. With that, he super sped from Giselle's lab.

He ran and ran and ran until he was in a place called Centium City. He wanted to go back. But he couldn't. He just couldn't.

Well, that was a shortie. XD Hope it was pretty good. (And REALLY dramatic! :))
