~~~Weaving throughout the enormous trees that blocked my path, I wiped away the tears that were rolling down my furry cheeks. I tried to stop them from falling since my vision was getting blurry, but it was difficult to do so.
Yelping, I ducked when a piece of wood flew at me from the bullets hitting it.
I was just hanging out with my family until these scary men sprang out of nowhere and murdered my mom and dad. Now I am all alone. The more unfortunate part about it too is that now they're after me, firing at me.
Swiftly running up a tree, I watched as the men ran right past me, not even bothering to look behind them. Soothing down my speeding heart, I clung onto the tree branches a tiny bit longer before dropping back down to the ground.
Scratching behind my furry ear, I began to feel a slight bit better.
Those men wanted me dead. They wanted my fur and to verify that I was real.
Plunging back down to the leafy ground, I gazed up at the setting sun, sighing. I don't know where I'll be living now.
I was only able to take a few steps before I howled out in pain. My ankle began to pulsate, and some hot fluid trickled down my foot. Glancing down, I see my worse enemy clamped down on my foot, bear traps.
"Can this day get any worse?" I sniffed, bending down to free myself, but I only ended up cutting my fingers. I was just about to give up until I heard footsteps moving their way towards me.
Tensing up, I shifted back into my tiny human self, rushing to get the bear trap off.
"Hey, hey, hey! Careful! You could hurt yourself even more." Peering behind me, I noticed another kid, just like me, wearing a white mask. I assume he could recognize the fear in my eyes since he held up his hands, retreating slightly.
"I'm not here to hurt you. Can I help?" The boy pointed down at my bloody ankle, causing me to glance between my wounded ankle and him.
Gradually nodding, I removed my crimson fingers so he could help me. I studied him for any possible threat. I couldn't find anything, but you never know.
"Names Masky, you?" Glimpsing up into his hidden chocolate brown eyes, I could see the guilt in his eyes.
"(Y/n)..." I declared, grimacing as I felt the strength of the bear trap leave my ankle. "Sorry. I saw those people chasing after you. Do you want me to hurt them?"
I was astounded as Masky's asked, but I just shrugged. "I mean, they would be back after me. So yes, yes, please."
I breathed in relief, moving my ankle only for pain to hit me. Snarling, I clapped my hands back over my wound. "I'll help you clean that up. Come home with me."
Sensing the warmth of Masky's hand on my back, I let out a small smile. "Thanks, it's nice to find someone that doesn't want to hurt you."
Gently drawing my hands off my ankle, I felt Masky pick me up and carry me back to his place. I blushed a tiny bit but just waved it off. I couldn't walk so they only thing he could do was carry me.
"You're adorable, why would I want to hurt you?" Twitching my nose, I looked away from the boy, concealing my red face. "Thanks, Masky." I felt Masky's tender lips kiss the top of my forehead, causing me to grin.
"You're welcome, (Y/n),"
