Youngjae never in a million years thought that he'd join a gang, but here he is. He knows it's all for undercover work, but he's still incredibly nervous. He'll be surrounded by gang members for the next six months, or maybe even longer. He has to be careful about everything he's saying, especially when trying to communicate with Chanyeol.
"Youngjae, you alright?" Chanyeol said softly into his ear and he took a few moments to steady his breathing.
"Yeah, I'm fine." Youngjae replied quietly.
"Okay.. you did good though." The older tried reassuring him. Youngjae didn't say anything else and looked around the room. The walls were bare, only holding a clock telling the wrong time. The drawers had a few plain white shirts, all looking like they were recently bought and all a size too big for him.
He decided that there was nothing else really to do and went to explore the floor. The room next to his was slightly ajar and he peeked inside but an arm appeared in front of the door. Youngjae jumped and turned to see Himchan standing beside him.
"That's Yongguk's room." Himchan said firmly.
"Sorry, I didn't know..." He apologized and Himchan removed his arm from in front of the door.
"It's fine, just don't try to enter someone else's room without their permission." The other ordered. Youngjae nodded vigorously and Himchan was about to leave when Youngjae stopped him.
"Wait, where is he?"
"Out." The other replied simply and continued downstairs. Youngjae felt highly intimidated by the other and figured that he must've been close to Yongguk.
"Don't feel bad, he's like that with everyone that only just joined. He's scary at first, but he'll come around!" A voice said to his left. A boy, younger he presumed but definitely not smaller than him, smiled at him.
"You're the new guy, right? I'm Zelo, but you can just call me Junhong!" The boy greeted with his arm extended. Youngjae shook his hand and felt a bit more welcome.
"I'm Youngjae."
"Nice. Anyways, did you need me to introduce you to anyone else? We're all nice, I swear." Junhong offered politely.
"It's alright." Youngjae declined and Junhong nodded.
"Did you wanna come watch me work on a car? It's a Ferrari!" The younger asked excitedly. He looked so enthusiastic that Youngjae felt too bad to refuse. The both of them made their way downstairs and went to the car Junhong had been talking about.
Youngjae sat on a chair beside him while he worked, occasionally passing him any tools he requested. This section of the garage had been closed off from the main shop, so Junhong had been blasting some American hip-hop songs he had heard before but didn't know the names to. The younger was softly singing along and they both looked up when they heard the door to the room open.
"Hey, Junhong. Youngjae, you warming up to everyone?" Their leader asked with a smile on his face.
"Yeah, boss. Junhong's been nice." Youngjae replied, which made the youngest perk up.
"That's good. But you can just call me Yongguk, or hyung you know. I don't make anyone call me boss, they just choose to."
"Thanks... Yongguk-hyung." Yongguk cracked a smile and continued walking with a shorter man with squinty eyes following behind.
"Hi Jongup! Wanna watch me work on this Ferrari?" Junhong called out to the other excitedly.
"I'm busy." Jongup deadpanned and Junhong made an exaggerated pout.
