"If Maggie asks why I've stopped calling, tell her I'm sorry."

"I thought you loved her, Jude."

"I do love her, Lindsay. And that's why I need to let her go."

"Don't listen to her mother, Jude. Maggie has been so happy since you started calling her. Even after the first phone call she was dancing around her room. She might not fully remember you yet, but I think she will eventually. Call back tomorrow, okay?"

"Okay. Thank you, Lindsay."
