AMANDA'S POV

2018 April 5th

I exited the animus.

My friend (Alexa) works for abstergo, she got me into it, but I only do voluntary work. They don't know that I'm accessing my ancestor's memory, they think I just found Fergus' body. Alexa told me not to tell them.

I set down the headset and pushed back on my seat, looking to the window, Scotland was a beautiful place.

A knock on the apartment door rang through the silent air, "Come in!" I called.

The door opened slowly, to show a raven-haired boy. Liam.

Liam has been my crush for like 3 years now, but he'd never know. Alexa introduced us, to be honest!

"Liam! Hey!" I smiled, "What brings you here?"

He smiled at me, closing the door, "You need to lock your door, yknow? I don't want someone breaking in and hurting you, Amanda." he crossed his arms.

I swung on my office chair, "Okay, dad~"

He sighed, but smiled, "Anyway, I heard you began the Fergus project?"

I nodded, "yeah, He decided to show me a scene of his 10-year-old brother dying."I sighed

Liam grimaced, "Ouch."

I hummed, "Yeah, I haven't reported to abstego yet, I don't completely trust them."

"Neither do i." He nodded, he looked very nervous. "Anyway, I was just stopping by, make sure you eat all your meals and stay healthy" He got up and got to the door.

"Bye-bye!" I giggled.

He smiled back, with that same angelic smile, "Bye~" he said, closing the door gently.

He's so caring, half the reason I fell in love with him, the other half being his humour and angelic smile.

I swing my chair back to my desk and open up league of legends. "Long time no see, old friend" I smiled at the league of legends launcher.

-2 hours later-

1/4 games won. Fuck my life.

Another round was loading when suddenly there was an email pop up, I thought i told it not to do that. Luckily, we hadn't begun yet, just waiting for members, so I exited the match before it started. I opened this urgent email and read it.

Dear Amanda,
You didn't report back to us in time, every abstergo employee has to report back to us the second they arrive so they don't run off.
We have your friend. Liam Thompson.
Trade yourself in for him.
-Abstergo

Fucking hell! These guys have serious trust issues, I clicked on the video they sent attached to it. It was a video of Liam in a jail cell, but like a modern one with see-through glass instead of bars and it was quite clean. Liam looked distressed and was yelling.

I called up Alexa,

"Hello, Alexa speaking, who's this?"

I tried to get my breathing under control, "I didn't report back to abstergo, so they took Liam."

"Stop playing around" She sighed

I growled, "Here, I'll send you the email."

a few moments later I heard a gasp,  "oh my god... I'm coming over immediately."

I put down the phone and paced around the room. A knock on the door came. I opened it to see a man I didn't know.

He smirked, "Hi, Amanda." He smiled, "We're going to help you find Liam."

"Who are you!?" I asked

He smiled again, "Well, we're the sworn enemy of Abstergo. The Assassin's Creed."
