Based by A Cinderella Story (skip to 1:02 for part)

Baseball was always my escape. Ever since my dad died and my stepmother putting so much pressure on me with chores around 'her' restaurant. It's not hers but my dads. He never wrote a will so it automatically was hers. Me and my guy best friend g/bf/n were at school. I was so angry at my stepmother so I took it out on sports. Baseball was always my escape.

"I hate her so much!" I yell swinging my bat again at the flying ball. The ball hits the fence near the end of the field.

"I know, I know but you just got to wait for that acceptance letter!" G/ bf/n told me. He throws another ball toward me ending with the ball almost hitting him. "Ahh!" He yells.

"Hahahhaha! Sorry!" He smiles lightly at me. Just as I was feeling better, I hear my old iPhone 5c buzz. It was from my stepmother.

Ugly witch: I need you to come home and clean the pool and then the fryer. Oh and cook dinner! Chop Chop!!!

"I got to go g/bf/n!" I tell him as I grip my bat harder.

"What'd she want this time?" He asks with a smirk and his eyebrows rose.

"Got to clean the pool and fryer, but don't forget to cook dinner!" I tell him in my best voice of my stepmother. "One more before I go." I tell him. I put all of my anger on this one ball. As I see the ball flying, I imagine her face on it with a smug look till she sees me about to hit. I hit the ball as hard as I could. It flew over the fence and onto the football field.

Grayson POV *before hard hit*

I tossed the football back and forth between me and Ethan.

"You planning to take r/n to the dance?" He asks. I take a deep breath and pass the ball back. It got me thinking that I don't really like her.

"No I don't think so. I just don't feel like she's the one I'm supposed to be with." He looks at me like I'm crazy and sighs.

"You got the most popular girl at your feet and you want to kick her to the side like a rock?" He says. I shrug. I hear slight yelling from the baseball field until a baseball flies right past the fence to the middle of us. I look toward the field to see a guy cheering while a girl holds a baseball bat chuckling softly.

"Did you see that? A girl hit that! That's impressive." I tell him. He nods while I retrieve the ball to throw it back. I toss the baseball back.

"Thank you!" I hear a distant voice yell.

"You're welcome!" I yell back. I keep tossing the ball back and forth thinking about the girl with mad baseball skills.
