She was huddled into the corner of her small closet, fearing for her life. She heard the yells and cries from her parents, and the thing that was attacking them. Alex couldn't see what was going on, but she didn't dare move from her spot. She clutched onto the shotgun and note her dad gave her moments before all of this, as tears start to roll down her cheeks.
...
......
.........
Then it went quiet.
Then, she heard footsteps coming closer, and closer to her room. Getting louder, and louder.
Boom....
Boom....
BOOM....
Her quiet sobs were growing more frantic, and her breathing hitched when she heard her bed room door slowly open.
She positioned her shotgun at the door of her closet, waiting as her thoughts start to wander about her parents. Her eyes widened at the horrid, and unpractical thought of her parents being dead. They couldn't be dead. Right?
She jumped out of her thoughts when the doorknob of the closet started to turn slowly.
She waited patiently, as she got angrier, and angrier.
...
The door opened.
She was faced with an ugly creature. It has claws, fangs, pointed ears, and a long, dark tail. Its eyes were pitch black. The rest of it body looked human almost, but its expression said other wise.
Alex didn't hesitate. She shot the thing with rock salt. It stumbled backwards, falling on top of her bed. She ran out of the room. She ran out of the house. She ran as far as she could before she couldn't run anymore. She ran to a family friends house, that was secluded, and hidden away.
She knocked frantically at the door, out of breath from the amount of running she just did.
"Hello?" A tall, lanky boy opened the door, he looked about 19, his dark hair was messy and un-taken care of. His dark blue eyes held concern and worry. He wore a red hoodie, underneath a black leather jacket. His dark jeans were dirty, along side his dark boots. He also wore a women's necklace, it was round and had a ruby in the center. The thing in Alex's house had all the same physical traits as him. The claws, the fangs, the ears, and the tail. He was a demon. So Alex assumed that the thing she left behind was also a demon.
"CHARLIE!" Alex practically screamed.
"Woah, woah! Alex, you okay? What's going on?"
"M-My parents! Something a-attacked them!"
His eyes widened. He started running towards his ruby red pick up truck. Alex always admired that truck, and hoped Charlie would let her drive it when she was old enough.
The two got inside and drove alarmingly fast back to Alex's house. Charlie ran inside but only found Alex's parents. On the floor bleeding out, already dead. He felt something rise up in his throat, but forced it back down. He practically yelled at Alex to stay outside, but she didn't listen.
Once inside, she was greeted with her parents corpes'. How did she miss this when she ran out? She dropped everything in her hands, and fell to her knees. Her long, tied back hair was now messy, and coming out of the tight ponytail her mother did only that morning.
She wasn't sad. She wasn't angry either. She felt.... Empty. She reached for the note her father gave her and read it.
------------------------------------------------------
Alex,
If you're reading this, your mother and I are dead. If you're reading this, you're mother and I were hunters. We hunted the type of things that killed the two of us. I don't want you to live this type of life, because once you're in it, you don't get out. More like you can't get out. It's not like your mother and I didn't try, we just kept getting dragged back in. We don't want this life for you. So if you can, AVOID this life as much as possible. We want you to stay with Charlie until you're able to take care of yourself. But just remember, you're stronger than any demon. You're stronger with allies. And just know, you're mother and I love you so, so much.
With love,
Terry & Jack (Mom and Dad)

Alex looked up with more tears rolling down her face as she turned towards Charlie, clutching the note in her hands.
"I'm gonna find that thing and kill it myself. I promise you, that I won't stop till it's dead, and back where it belongs."
Charlie looked frightened for a moment, but it washed away before Alex could notice. He stepped forward, hesitantly, and placed his hand in Alex's shoulder.
"I-I think you need some rest. You've been through a lot today. I-I'll get a room set up at my place for you to stay in. Is that okay Alex?"
Alex stared blankly at him before she nodded and started walking out the door and into his car, not bothering to look back.
Charlie let out a long sign, then dialed 911 on his cell phone.
"Hello 911, what's your emergency?"
"Uhh, hi. I wash visiting some friends of mine. A married couple, and I found them... D-Dead... They're names are Terry and Jack Silverstein"
"Okay sir, what is the address?"
"65 tailor drive"
"Okay, and what's your name sir?"
"My name? Uhh, yeah it's-"
Charlie hung up the phone before he answered.
He checked the rest of the house, every inch of it, in case the demon was still there.
He found nothing.
He walked out of the house to meet Alex in his truck. He started it up and drove back to his house, a lot calmer, and slower this time. He glanced over at her, she only stared blankly out the windshield. He sighed and continued to drive.
This was going to be difficult.
