Jace and Clary moving on

When all of the food was put away, every one was sitting in the living room talking about how Jace was gonna take her out on a date tonight."When will you be bringing her home Jace?" Jocelyn asked, still unsure about Jace."Well I was thinking about around 10," He reassured her, still hoping that he'll win her trust." That seems like a suitable time. Very well," Jocelyn stated. Jace grinned with joy. Not only was he gonna take the love of his life to a glorious date, he was also getting Jocelyn to like him.

Clary was both happy and shocked that Jocelyn was starting to like Jace. Though it seemed way to easy for Jace to convince her mom, but she wasn't about to complain. If Jace and her mom were getting along than that meant that their future would have no problems." Well I think i'm gonna go get changed," Clary announced as she got up off the couch and walked to her room to change. When she got in there she immediately grabbed a pair of jeans and the blue sweater Jace likes.

She had no idea if it was going to be a fancy date or not so she decided to just dress casual. Jace would still think she was beautiful no matter what she wore. She kept her hair down because she knew that Jace liked it that way. And her only jewelry was the chain around her neck with the Morganstern family ring hanging from it that Jace gave her. Her final thing was a pair of simple black tennis shoes. She was now ready to go on her date with Jace.

As he waited patiently for Clary to come out he just stood there on the couch feeling nervous that Jocelyn was going to ask him what he had planned for tonight. Unfortunately she did," So Jace where are you going to take Clary to?" He had no idea what he was gonna tell her. So he just decided to be honest with her." Mrs. Garroway, my I ask you something?"

A few minutes later, Clary stepped into the living room and Jace immediately stood up to take her hand." Are you ready to go?" Jace asked sounding strangely nervous for tonight. Clary nodded and took his hand and they headed towards the door when Jocelyn said," Be safe and Jace do look after my daughter."" With my life," was all he said. When they said their good-byes and headed out the door Clary playfully hit Jace on the arm." You are such a kiss up" she giggled." Hey if it gets your mom to like me than I will dress like a clown and pose for one of her paintings," Jace replied still smiling as he guided her off of the porch.

" I would pay big money to see you dressed as a clown," Clary laughed with him." You look beautiful tonight. How did I get ever so lucky to have a girl like you," he told her as they walked to the cab that was waiting for them." Easy, you went to the same club that I went to on the same night and I saw you killing a demon," she blushed at the memory of how they first met. Jace opened the cab door for Clary like a gentleman and said," Ladies first."" Why thank you kind sir," she said while giggling.
