Good but Hard times

Chapter 4: Good but Hard Times

The next couple days went by pretty quick for the idols. Most of the days were pretty great. Pearl bonded with Vian pretty quick as he did with Marina.

The rapper would do silly raps and he would always smile and giggle which brought a smile to the Octoling's face.

There was even a time where She had came back from the store and found the two fast asleep on the couch. Pearl's arm cradled Vian as he rested his head against her chest. Oh Marina made sure to get a picture of the two.

However there also bad days where Vian would start crying in the middle of nights.

One of the two would go and comfort him, until he fell back asleep. The two would be so sluggish, going to work but they pull it together once it was time for the rotations.

"Yo Mar, It's almost time for the stage rotations!"

Marina looked up from playing with Vian. "Already?"

"Yeah, I know time flys yo!" Pearl replied, grabbing her boots.

"Alright then." Marina said, standing up, placing the now whining child to place on her shoes.

"Haha Just a second Vian." Marina told the child.

After she was done, she lifted Vian up in the air, making silly faces to lighten up his mood again, and placed him back in her arms.

Pearl chuckled at the two. "Y'all ready?"

"Yep!" Marina replied.

"Bah!" Was Vian's reply which made the idols laugh.

"Ok, We will be back in 10 minutes okay? Remember, don't go off to far where we can't find you and Please don't leave him by himself!" Marina reminded sternly, as she placed Vian into Sara's arms.

"Yeah Yeah, I gotcha. I'll just be sitting here with Vian ok?" Sara said, not really paying attention as she had been told this more times than she can count.

"Ok..again sorry about the sudden request, Reece wasn't available today." Marina turned her attention to Vian. "I'll see in a bit Vian!" She said, giving him a little kiss on his forehead.

Vian began to whine slightly as his 'parents' were going away from him again.

"It'll be alright Vian, We'll be back!" Pearl said, giving him a thumbs up.

They walk off, leaving Vian and his temporary babysitter sitting at the tables.

Sara was busying on her phone, watching some SplatTube video, with her headphones in her ear. She wasn't paying any attention to Vian.

Vian was trying to gain her attention by placing his hand on her face, which she just brushed off. He then tried to swipe his hand across her screen. He somehow exited out of the SplatTube app, which got Sara annoyed.

"Hey! Why'd you do that?! I was watching that!" Sara asked, raising her voice slightly.

Vian was startled at small outburst and started crying.

The annoyed inkling simply just tuned out the wails of the baby and countinued doing what she does.

The baby inkling had drawn a few other inkling's attention towards him as he cried.

Sara noticed the looks and decided to finally calm him down. "Hey, uh.. Vian! Look at duckie!" She pointed to the little duck on her screen.

That seemed to work as he smiled at the little duck on her screen.

She sighed and looked around as her phone was now occupied.

The female inkling looked at Crusty Sean's truck and decided she wanted to grab something to eat while waiting for Marina and Pearl.

She didn't want to hold Vian while she was waiting in line so she places him in one of the chairs, but close enough so she can watch him.

"You stay put alright, I'm gonna be right back." She said, walking away.

Vian was left alone.

It's only been around 5 minutes and his babysitter already and she had already went aganist what she was asked not to do!
