Once upon a gloomy night while I lay there full of dread
I heard a tap at the edge of my bed
I glimpsed "Nothing there.." I said wearily
"You are mistaken my love, for I am here, not just the air." Said a voice
"Oh Maria how can it be so?"I said with curiosity.
"You passed away so, long ago."
"I have come back so you can clear your head and no longer feel dread, my dear." Maria said lovingly
"But you have forsaken me. For I left you alone... to die." I said unknowingly
"You are mislead Henry, for that is a lie." Said Maria
"It was I who left you, for another man, yet I was killed at his hands." Said Maria
"Then what have you come here for, if you love me no more." I said interest peeking
"I came to tell you I love you once more for I do not want you do die on this here floor cold and sore." Said Maria
"Why thank you my love now I can rest at ease, for the rest of my years."
"And may you never, shed a tear." Said Maria as she faded away.
